Jonnie Irwin, 47, sent his apologises to fans who thought they were going to watch him play for the Lord’s Taverners, a youth cricket and disability sports charity, on Sunday. It comes after unforeseen events saw him spend the day washing sick out of his children’s bedding.
I’ve had a rather less glamorous day washing at home!
The presenter and wife Jessica, welcomed twins back in June last year, but Jonnie revealed the pair had been “projectile vomiting” over the weekend.
A slightly pressing matter, Jonnie was on washing duties as he hoped for a speedy recovery for his tots.
Taking to Instagram, the A Place In The Sun star showed his followers what he and his family were dealing with.
He posted a gruesome snap of the bed sheets covered in sick, while in the second he showed off all the washing he had to do.
“9.30pm both twins projectile vomiting within few hours of each other through the night,” he winced.
“Apologies for anyone hoping to see me play for the @lordstaverners today at Tickhill.
“I’ve had a rather less glamorous day washing at home! #3under3 #twins.”
Fans rushed to the comments section to wish them well and advised Jonnie that he wasn’t the only one dealing with what appeared to be a tummy bug.
“It’s doing the rounds, God awful, hope it passes soon,” one prayed.
A second added: “Hope they are OK and that the rest of you don’t end up getting it.”
“Hope you get some sleep tonight and everyone is feeling better,” a third commented.

A fourth added: “The joys of being a parent! Hope it passes soon – thank goodness for automatic washing machines!”
“Oh no. I thought looking after a 3 year old and a 7 year old was hard enough! Hope there is less vomit tomorrow,” a fifth had their fingers crossed for him.
While a sixth joked: “Grim pal. Grim.”
The couple have their work cut out with three children all under three years old.
Before the dreaded sickness post, Jonnie shared a sweet snap of the family-of-five at the zoo together.
Sharing a collection of photographs to his feed, he wrote: “Saturday- full on family day just worked for some reason.
“Simple and fun.”
He then added: “Right up until 9.30pm,” referring to the twin’s vomiting.
