Coleen and Wayne Rooney have shared sweet tributes to their son Kai to wish him a happy birthday.

The couple, both 34, posted snaps of their eldest son and shared their love for him as he turned 11 on Monday 2 November.

Coleen, who is reportedly gathering evidence for her court case against Rebekah Vardy, shared two collages of her son Kai with his parents and siblings Klay, seven, Kit, four, and Cass, two, over the years.

Snaps include the family on holiday, while one particular photo shows how much Wayne and Coleen’s son looks like his dad as he poses for a school picture.

As she shared the photos with her 884,000 Instagram followers, she shared her pride over her eldest son turning another year older in the caption.

She wrote: “Our boy is 11 today. We love you so much Kai and are so proud of you” followed by a blue heart emoji.

Meanwhile, Wayne shared a photo of his son Kit stood with his three younger brothers in front of silver and black helium balloons which spelled out Kai’s name and age.

Former England footballer Wayne, who recently celebrated his birthday in isolation after he came into contact with someone with coronavirus, had a simple message for his son in the caption. It read: “Happy 11th Birthday Kai. We love you” followed by a red heart emoji.

The Rooney family celebration comes after reports Coleen is set to face Rebekah Vardy in court later this month.

Coleen, 34, is being sued by 38 year old Becky for libel after Wayne Rooney’s wife accused Rebekah’s Instagram account of “informing the press of her price online posts” last year.

And now, it’s been reported lawyers on each side of the WAGatha Christie case will lock horns for the first time in an upcoming “meanings hearing”, according to The Sun Online.

It’s understood that Coleen will be expected to explain exactly what she meant when she accused Rebekah in a lengthy Instagram statement.

Mum of four is said to be set to argue she has “reasonable grounds” to suspect Rebekah “informed the press” either “directly or indirectly”.

Meanwhile, Rebekah will be set to be expected to specify how she means to prove her libel claim, it has been reported.

Coleen and Rebekah’s first hearing will be on Thursday 19 November and will reportedly last half a day, but the pair are not expected to attend.

A judge will reportedly decide on the true meaning of Coleen’s post and set down the parameters for the pair’s libel case in 2021.

Rebekah previously spoke of plans to “clear her name” as she discussed the upcoming court hearing on Good Morning Britain.

During her appearance on GMB via video link, she told Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid: “Look, we tried to sort things out amicably, it just didn’t work. I understand people think it’s ridiculous, but what was I meant to do? I need to clear my name.”

She added: “I will do whatever it takes, and I hope it's going to be resolved soon. It's just one of those things that has to go through the process, unfortunately.”
