James Jordan, 42, has posted on his Twitter page, after taking a break from the social media site following the death of his beloved dad Allan Jordan. The former Strictly Come Dancing professional’s father died last month from a brain tumour leaving his family heartbroken.
My family watched him slowly disappear
James admitted to feeling “totally devastated” by the loss of Allan, and said he had tried to previously post a video, but became “too emotional”.
The star said in an emotional clip posted in view of his 272,600 followers: “I haven’t been on social media for quite a long time now because my father, unfortunately, passed away on 13 March at 8.05am.
“This could potentially change your life or someone in your family’s.
“My dad had a stage four brain tumour – a glioblastoma. He was diagnosed approximately one year ago and myself and my family watched him slowly disappear,” he added.
James shared that his dad had begun to lose “his identity” amid his battle with the devastating condition.
He continued: “It’s an absolutely horrendous disease. Cancer is awful no matter which cancer it is but a brain tumour, in particular, takes away that person’s identity a lot.
“Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer in children and adults under 40. Out of £600million raised in the UK, less than three per cent goes to brain tumour funding for treatments.
“I want to change that because I don’t want any of you guys to go through what I and my family went through.”
James said he would be shaving off his “horrendous hair” on his birthday April 13 for a brain tumour charity.
The date also marks a week before his father’s funeral.
He said: “Hopefully we can do something good from it. Many of you have been pointing out how horrendous it [his hair] looks.
“I’m going to shave it off totally and all I want from you guys is to raise as much money as I can.”

Underneath his loyal fans sent their well wishes, as they also shared experiences with brain cancer.
One said: “Sorry to hear of your loss James. It’s a great cause that you will be raising funds for. Back in 2018 me and my brother did the same for @BrainTumourOrg. I hope you raise lots of money.”
Another replied: “Well done James. Donated. I am an Oncology Nurse I care for all types of patients with cancer x.”
While a third commented: “God bless your family James at this very tough time. We lost our 11-year-old daughter to a brainstem tumour in Dec 2019 and are raising funds for Yorkshire Brain Tumour Charity through a book called Is Mise Cara. So many unknowns with brain tumours. Brutal, devastating disease.”
A fourth replied: “I lost my dad last year on March 13th last year very unexpectedly, I feel your loss and understand your pain life changes forever. Sending love and strength.”
James revealed just last month that his beloved father Allan had sadly died, after battling a brain tumour.
The professional dancer announced the sad news on Instagram on March 13, noting that his dad “became an angel at 8.05am”.
James typed: “My dad became an angel at 8:05am. I will forever miss him.
“He will always be my hero. RIP Daddy.”
