Jaclyn Hill Breaks Her Silence After Her Company Sold Hairy Lipsticks to Fans and They Freaked
Good morning! Today I bring you scalding hot YouTuber tea, but this time it doesn’t actually involve James Charles and Tati Westbrook! Who would’ve thought!
Anyway, Jaclyn Hill landed in hot water a few weeks back for selling lipsticks with hair in them, and now, she’s breaking her silence for the first time since everything went down.
Here’s a refresher in case you were too busy rewatching that Rihanna/Seth Meyers vid all weekend to pay attention: Jaclyn Hill recently launched a new cosmetics line called Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics, which makes total sense because she’s a makeup pro and her Becca Champagne Pop highlighter is a bestseller for the brand. Great! But there was a problem! Part of Jaclyn’s new line included $18 lipsticks, and when customers got them in the mail, they were allegedly pretty gross.
See for yourself:
Why is my @jaclyncosmetics Decaf lipstick lumpy?? @Jaclynhill This cant be ok right?? #jaclyncosmetics #jaclynhill pic.twitter.com/xjffA4fUF1

@Jaclynhill @jaclyncosmetics I am a huge supporter! Seriously love you. I was soooo excited to buy your lipsticks. Today when I went to put on “Decaf” ..I noticed there was a hard ball inside of it. What is it? Can I get a replacement? pic.twitter.com/D9acDVtDgH
Angry fans started posting pictures of lipsticks with bumps, hairs, and little balls in them, with some lipsticks arriving completely damaged. And Jaclyn obviously knew that was a problem. Before going silent on social media for a little bit, Jaclyn posted a video titled “My Lipsticks,” but one look at the YouTube comments shows it didn’t exactly sit well with fans. Now, she’s rethought her approach and is giving the people what they want: their money back.
Over the weekend, Jaclyn posted an Instagram Story admitting that her initial video makes her “cringe” and that every customer who bought lipstick will get a refund.
Here’s what she said:
Her company also posted a message on Instagram.
