Meghan Markle’s pal Priyanka Chopra Jones appeared to “snub” Kate Middleton and Prince William at Wimbledon, fans have claimed.

Footage from the Wimbledon Ladies’ Final on Saturday 10 July appears to show actress Priyanka ignore Kate and Will as they sat down in the seats in front of her to watch the match, after receiving a round of applause from a handful of spectators.

Instead, Priyanka, 38, who was not the only person to refrain from clapping and cheering as the duo took their seats, appeared to “ignore” the pair by fiddling with her scarf.

Some eagle-eyed fans have now connected this move to a similar gesture performed by Prince William in 2018 when Meghan tried to talk to him after a family church service.

A piece of unearthed footage recorded on Christmas Day in 2018 shows a pregnant Meghan trying to talk to her brother-in-law while they walk away from St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Norfolk.

In the footage, it appears to show William look away from the Duchess and repeatedly touch and adjust his scarf.

It might just be a coincidence, but some fans have delved deep into the conspiracy theory linking the two alleged “snubs”.

Talking about Priyanka's reaction, one fan on Twitter wrote: “The way Priyanka did not even look in their direction is good enough for me.”

While another said: “She totally ignored them. I would do the same if my friend was mistreated.” And another said: “I would ignore them as well.”

Fans claimed Priyanka was standing up for the Duchess after the Meghan and Prince Harry's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired earlier this year.

In the interview, mum-of-two Meghan, 39, claimed Kate, also 39, made her cry ahead of her wedding to 36-year-old Prince Harry.

She opened up about reports of a rift between herself and Kate and said the press wanted “a hero and a villain”.

The Duchess of Sussex, who also said she had suicidal thoughts during her time in the Royal Family, claimed that despite reports that she was the one who drove Kate to tears days before her nuptials to Harry, it was in fact the other way around.

Meghan and Priyanka have known each other for years, despite rumours of a rift in the pair’s friendship.

Rumours surfaced of a bust-up when Meghan didn't attend Priyanka's wedding to Nick Jonas, in 2018 but Meghan was pregnant with baby Archie at the time.

The Jonas Brothers musician and Priyanka married in December 2018 in a lavish two-day ceremony in the western Indian city of Jodphur – after being engaged just four months earlier.

Meghan might not have attended, but any talk of a fall out was put to bed when Priyanka and her husband visited her and Harry at Frogmore Cottage bearing gifts from Tiffany & Co, following the birth of their first baby, Archie.
