Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa Team Up On Edgy New Single ‘Prisoner’

Miley Cyrus released “Prisoner,” featuring Dua Lipa, and an accompanying music video for the track, on Thursday (November 19).

The song is featured in Cyrus’ upcoming album, Plastic Hearts, due out on November 27.

The visual, directed by Alana O’Herlihy and Cyrus, shows Lipa and Cyrus recklessly driving through NYC in a tour bus before they head to the back a shamelessly sexy party and go onstage to perform their new hit. “In loving memory of all my exes,” reads a message at the end. “Eat s–t.”

Rumors about Cyrus and Lipa teaming up for a song were going around this summer when Cyrus posted pictures of herself hanging in the studio with Lipa. She captioned the shots: “Dua has heard what you haven’t….”

In a preview of an interview with Apple Music that debuts on Monday, Nov. 23, Cyrus says, “We’re just trapped in our emotions right now. It’s like, ‘Locked up, can’t get you off my mind.’ Anything that you’ve tried to suppress or compartmentalize at that point, it’s coming up. It’s yours to own, to own it or release it.”

“We edited this video on text message, me and her directly as artists,” Cyrus continued.

The Plastic Hearts album also features the previously released track, “Midnight Sky,” featuring Stevie Nicks.
