Phillip Schofield and stand-in host Josie Gibson discussed this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! line-up and whether they would be up for taking part on the show today. The 59-year-old stunned Josie as he revealed he wouldn’t be scared of the Bushtucker trials like most participants, but the camp’s metal bowls and cutlery instead.

The presenter said he thinks he’d “starve to death” as scraping a spoon on metal bowls freaks him out.

He explained: “Well, I’ve always said I’m A Celeb is the only one I would do.

“But I wouldn’t do it… I don’t think.

“I couldn’t do it because they eat out of those metal cans with metal spoons, and I’ve got goosebumps even thinking about it.

“Scraping the spoon on the tin can, I couldn’t do it, I’d starve to death!”

Stunned by his comment, Josie said: “There’s bugs, there’s snakes, there’s rats, and Phil is worried about a spoon on a metal spoon!”

The presenter added it would be his “biggest challenge” on the show and insisted he’d be OK with anything else.

Josie went on to say she doesn’t think she’d be able to do it due to the lack of home comforts.

Discussing the line-up, the presenter said he believes Richard Madeley would be this year’s “controversial” camp mate.

Josie added that Kadeena Cox is a “good girl” and implied that she will do well on the show.

Other celebrities taking part this year include; Louise Minchin, Danny Miller, Naughty Boy, Arlene Phillips, Snoochie Shy, David Ginola, Frankie Bridge and Matty Lee.

Rumoured to be joining the cast at a later date are Simon Gregson and Adam Woodyatt.

Once again, the show will be airing from Wales’ Gwrych Castle and not Australia, due to ongoing travel restrictions.

All participants are undergoing two weeks of self-isolation before they enter the camp.

Back on hosting duties are long-serving hosts Ant and Dec.

Richard said of his upcoming stint: “I suddenly wondered what it would be like to be there rather than watching.

“I realised the time had come to experience it.”

The broadcaster believes he will be the cook and interviewer of the group.

“I will ask questions in camp. Unless you are curious, you don’t learn about people,” he added.

I’m A Celebrity kicks off this Sunday at 9pm on ITV.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
