Princess Charlotte poses alongside brother Prince George in adorable new photo from her first day at school

Kensington Palace has shared another beautiful image of Princess Charlotte on her first day of primary school.

The gorgeous four year old attended her first day at Thomas' in Battersea, South London, alongside big brother Prince George, six.

The Palace has now released a brand new image of the siblings posing together on the steps outside their school, with Charlotte adorable putting an arm around her brother.

George beams at the camera, cutely showing off the gaps in between his teeth as he looks smart in a navy blue jumper and matching shorts.

His jumper features the school's logo in red, along with red rimmed collar and sleeves as he proudly stands beside his little sister.

Charlotte looks equally as gorgeous in her own uniform, sporting a cardigan styled similarly to George's jumper and a navy blue skirt.

Earlier in the day, the Princess was seen arriving for her big day dressed in the school uniform alongside George and their parents Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The Duchess of Cambridge Kate, 37, carried Charlotte’s school bag, while husband William, also 37, held tightly onto George’s hand.

Like his wife with their daughter Charlotte, William carried George’s bag, as the adorable Royal family entered the school playground.

A palace spokesperson confirmed Charlotte’s first day at school, saying: "Princess Charlotte, accompanied by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George, will attend her first day of school at Thomas's Battersea on Thursday 5th September."

Prince George – who celebrated his sixth birthday in July – is now beginning his third year at the fee-paying school.

On his first day at school in 2017, Kate missed out on dropping him off as she was pregnant with youngest son Prince Louis and was suffering from acute morning sickness, known as hyperemesis gravidarum.

As she entered the playground, Charlotte appeared momentarily nervous as she hid behind Kate’s hand and flicked her ponytail.

She was met by head of Thomas’s lower school, Helen Haslem. Prince William reportedly told Helen that Charlotte was "very excited" for her first day.

Kate looked stunning for Charlotte’s big day, dressed in a glamorous midi Michael Kors dress.

The pattered dress was cinched in at the waist with a black belt, while she wore navy heels.

The mum-of-three wore her brunette hair down in a bouncy style and added some delicate gold earrings.

Kensington Palace shared a clip of Kate, William, Charlotte and George arriving to the school this morning, with the caption: “Princess Charlotte arrives for her first day of school at Thomas’s Battersea, joining her older brother Prince George.”

Royal fans took to social media in their droves to gush over Charlotte’s milestone.

One person wrote: “They're both so big! Seems like yesterday the little princess was born!”
