Rachel Riley gives birth! Countdown star welcomes daughter Noa at home after being 15 days overdue and shares snap of husband Pasha’s ‘newest dance partner’

Rachel Riley has given birth to a baby girl named Noa, 15 days after her due date.

The Countdown star, 35, took to Instagram to reveal the happy news as she shared a picture of her bundle of joy, her second second child with husband Pasha Kovalev.

In the caption of her post, Rachel gushed: ‘We have some news…! Introducing Pasha’s newest dance partner – baby Noa was finally born, 15 days after her due date, late on Friday night to the sound of fireworks!

‘She’s totally adorable and her big sister Maven has already tried welcoming her to the world by offering Oatly and pickles, we think that’s a good sign. 

‘Massive thanks to the wonderful home birth midwives team and my doula who looked after us all so well.’ 

She added: ‘Ps thanks too to my namesake @rachelrileyuk for the lovely rainbow baby clothes for our gorgeous rainbow baby. Our family feels complete now she’s here.’

Rachel also shared an adorable snap of herself cradling Noa in her arms along with a photo of the tot alongside her older sister Maven, 23 months.

Rachel shared another snap of the tot to her Twitter account and jokingly wrote: ‘PS Is it just me or does she look a bit like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer here? Guess they didn’t call him the baby-faced assassin for nothing.’ 

Last month, Rachel celebrated her final day of filming for Countdown before going on maternity leave.

She took to Instagram to share the news with fans saying she has ‘officially finished filming to pop a baby out!’.

The television star shared a slew of silly snaps with the show’s new presenter Anne-Marie Imafidon who will ‘be keeping the numbers in line’ until Rachel returns next year.

Rachel wrote: ‘We have some news…! Introducing Pasha’s newest dance partner – baby Noa was finally born, 15 days after her due date, late on Friday night to the sound of fireworks!’ 

Rachel also revealed we will continue to see her on our TV screens until December as some shows have been pre-recorded.

She captioned the post: ‘Well that’s it from me, I’ve officially finished filming to pop a baby out!’

‘You’re stuck with me on screen till December when the totally amazing @notyouraverageami will be keeping the numbers in line till I’m back next year!

‘Hope you have loads of fun Anne-Marie, best of luck lovely!’

She previously took to Instagram to post a glowing photo of herself, her husband Pasha and their daughter.

The maths whiz captioned the snap, which saw Maven playing alongside the pair: ‘Cooking nicely – not long left now! Can’t quite get my head around having two tiny humans yet… guess I will do soon enough!’

They looked as loved up as ever in the photo, with the former Strictly star wrapping his arms around Rachel making a love heart with his fingers on top of her bump.

Continuing on in the post she joked: ‘And thanks for keeping me clothed @nobodyschild, especially helpful as next to nothing else fits right now!’

The red dress looked stunning on the television personality and boasted puffed out sleeves and ruffled hem to up the glamour of the look.

Her blonde locks were styled straight for the photo while she wore a full face of make-up for the stunning shot alongside her nearest and dearest.

Pasha, meanwhile, cut a casual figure in beige chinos and a burgundy T-shirt paired with brown and cream loafers.

Maven looked adorable in bunches and a floral sundress while she tried to catch her parents attention as she pointed to something off camera.

Rachel and Pasha announced they were expecting their second child together in April this year.

Rachel appeared in the 2013 series of Strictly Come Dancing where she met her man before being eliminated in week six. 

The television personality recently spoke about her growing family in an exclusive interview with MailOnline.

She explained that she and Pasha felt unsure children were in their future during the early stages of their relationship, but after reflecting on her age and the possibility starting a family may not be easy, they decided to go full steam ahead.

‘We’ve bashed them out! Get the sleep deprivation over in one go is the plan’, she explained.

‘I’m 35 and I’ve got friends that are struggling with fertility, and you just never know if you’re going to be able to get pregnant.

‘We have been really lucky, touch wood, and we’re very excited. They’re great, we weren’t sure if we wanted them before and we’re just both in love, it’s lovely.’

Rachel candidly revealed she suffered a miscarriage between her two pregnancies. 

The former Gadget Show presenter, told OK! Magazine about why she planned to have another child so soon after welcoming Maven. 

Rachel said: ‘At 35 I’m considered old biologically. I had a miscarriage between the two pregnancies, so you can’t count your chickens. Thankfully, I seem to get pregnant easily which I don’t take for granted.’ 

The television personality went to talk about how both pregnancies have been ‘plain sailing’, but is suffering from acid reflux during the final stages of her third trimester.

With Rachel’s due date imminently approaching, the star discussed her birthing plan and revealed they were planning on a home birth.  

‘We’ve planned a home birth because my daughter Maven arrived so quickly the midwives said, “Don’t even try to make it to the hospital this time”, Rachel said. 

‘The first time round the midwives arrived with just 20 minutes to spare and I gave birth in our bathroom.’

Describing her labour, Rachel said she was pleading with Pasha to ‘get the baby out’ and when the doula arrived ‘Maven’s head was emerging’.
