'RHOC' Cast Wishes Gina Was 'Honest' About Alleged Marriage Violence
The Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter shocked not only fans when she accused her on-off husband Matt of habitual abuse — but also her costars.
Now, in the aftermath of the 35-year-old mother of three’s domestic violence restraining order against her ex, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that her friends wish she had been honest about her nightmare marriage from the beginning.
“Now that the cat is out of the bag, all of the ladies are really super supportive of her right now, because she needs the support,” a source close to production assured Radar. “Some of them have all been through divorces, and also have been in bad relationships.”
But the women — including Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador, Emily Simpson, Kelly Dodd & Vicki Gunvalson — are sad she didn’t confide in them in the first place.
As RHOC fans know, Gina was coy when her costars asked why she suddenly filed for divorce from husband Matt in early 2018 when the couple seemed crazy about each other.
Some of the women, especially Vicki, even encouraged her to stay with Matt for the sake of their three young children.
But none of the ladies are grilling her about her lack of transparency last year.
“They just really want Gina to be honest about what is really going on from this point forward so they can help her,” the source said adding,
As Radar previously reported, Gina accused Matt, 35, of hitting, choking, and threatening to kill her during a violent fight in the wee hours of June 22.
“He ripped my bra strap off, then took a pillow and hit me on the side of the head with it hard,” she said in the June 24 restraining order filing. “My ears rang. I begged him to stop to calm down… but he kept hitting me.”
“There are other incidents that have scared me in the past. Too many to remember. At this point, I have to protect me and our children.”
He was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence, though he has not yet been charged with a crime.
Now, he must stay over 100 yards away from Gina and the children until a court hearing next month.
