Tiffani Thiessen Weighs In On The ‘Who Is Mac’s Dad’ Debate on ‘Saved By The Bell’ Reboot
Tiffani Thiessen can confirm just who Mac’s real dad is – it’s Zack Morris.
The 46-year-old actress, who plays Kelly Kapowski Morris on the reboot of Saved By The Bell on Peacock, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the hot debate, which went viral on social media of just who Mac’s father really was.
During the season one finale, Kelly mentions her ex-boyfriend Jeff, after Mac questions if he even knows his father.
Kelly responded with “You’re not Jeff’s”, which led fans to question if Zack was actually the father.
“I promise you it’s not Jeff,” she says. “I mean, look at him! [Mac] looks exactly like Mark-Paul [Gosselaar]. It was such a good line to add in there, wasn’t it? That’s [executive producer] Tracey [Wigfield] for you.”
Tiffani added, “No way that could happen, it would kill everything. It’s just a funny, really good line. It’s those little lines that are just so great, but there’s no way. Mac looks exactly like Zack. It’s truly uncanny how they cast him. Mitchell [Hoog] is good, too. He’s such a good actor. All of the kids in the cast are so talented.”
She also chimed in on the choice for Zack and Kelly to have only one child.
“I’m actually surprised they didn’t have more kids,” Tiffani says. “I always thought that they would’ve had at least four kids by now, if not more. It’s just the way they wrote it and no one is going to argue.”
Saved By The Bell is streaming on Peacock now.
The series recently came under fire for an unnecessary joke.
