Ulrika Jonsson has admitted the only reason she’s tuning into Strictly is to find out who professional dancer Giovanni Pernice is dating. However, in her latest column, the presenter also admitted she wonders if people would treat the star the same way if he was a woman.

Giovanni is currently wowing audiences with his partner Rose Ayling-Ellis on Strictly Come Dancing.

The pair have been scoring highly and will be battling it out for a place in the semi-finals tonight.

However, despite his dancing skills, Ulrika has said she’s more interested in his dating life.

Writing in her new column today, she claimed: “No one watches Strictly for the dancing.”

She penned: “The main reason the audience tunes in every year is to find out who professional dancer Giovanni Pernice is dating.

“The notches on his bedpost read like a who’s who of average celebs.”

Ulrika then commented on his rumoured former girlfriends, including Georgia May Foote, Ashley Roberts, Jess Wright and Maura Higgins.

She also mentioned rumours he’s been linked to Made In Chelsea star Verity Bowditch.

Although, Giovanni himself spoke out against these rumours last week to dismiss them.

Posting on Instagram, he wrote: “Always wanting to speak the truth over here.

“It’s news to me that I am dating, didn’t know anything about it.

“At the moment, as you know it’s all about dance dance dance which is wonderfullll darling. (sic)

“That’s the reality, no drama here Have a great day – ‘THE SUN’ is shining! Gio x.”

However, in her same column for The Sun, Ulrika also pointed out how she wonders if there would be a similar response if a woman was labelled a “stallion”.

She continued: “Fair play to the Italian Stallion – get it while you can, young man. He clearly has needs. But that is surely the point.

“By calling him a “stallion” we endorse his many seductions. And while there is nothing wrong with that in the slightest, I’m quietly wondering: What if Giovanni was a Giovanna?

“I think there would be significant aspersions cast upon her.”

Ulrika admitted she thinks she would be labelled differently in the public eye.

“We know it takes two to tango, but when it is the woman who takes the lead, we can’t help feeling more than a little unnerved. Nonetheless, good luck to you mate.”

Giovanni will be back on Strictly tonight on BBC One.

While Ulrika will soon be appearing in the latest series of Celebs Go Dating.
