Adele and ex-husband Simon Konecki reach divorce settlement 2 years after split

Adele and ex-husband Simon Konecki have reportedly reached a divorce settlement two years after they split.

The 32-year-old singer is said to have filed a judgement packet with courts on Friday January 15, after announcing that they had parted ways back in April 2019.

According to Us Weekly, the former couple – who each represented themselves in the case – will not be officially divorced until a judge signs off on the agreement.

The pair are believed to have opted to determine rights to community property and debts through mediation.

Adele initially filed for divorce in September 2019, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.

The couple share eight-year-old son Angelo and the initial filing showed that both parties wanted joint custody and visitation of their son, which they planned to negotiate through a mediator.

In March 2020, they signed a confidentiality agreement in regard to the details of their case.

Adele and Simon had dated for seven years, and made their debut as a couple in January 2012.

The pair tied the knot in May 2018, and in February 2019 Adele gifted Simon her home in Los Angeles before they separated two months later.

In 2019, Adele's rep said in a statement: "They are committed to raising their son together lovingly."

Speaking to Us Weekly at the time, a source said the relationship "didn't work out" because it had "evolved" and they were, in the end, "more like friends than lovers".

The insider added that they "realised the romantic love was no longer there".

Since the split, Adele has lost seven stone after undertaking a diet and fitness regime that left her looking unrecognisable to her former self, sending fans wild with her extreme makeover.

Last year, she was been linked to 38-year-old British rapper Skepta, although she has denied any romance between them.

However, in October 2020 Adele broke her silence on her relationship status when she jokingly referred to herself as a "cat lady" and made it clear she is not currently dating anyone.

After hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time, she took to social media to thank SNL viewers for their warm response and said: "I'm going back to my cave now to be the (single) cat lady that I am! Peace out til next year."
