Amber Gill after Love Island – ‘accidentally’ coming out to writing sex scenes

Amber Gill has been confirmed for Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, alongside other stars such as footballer Ashley Cain, soap star Maisie Smith and reality TV personality Ferne McCann.

The Channel 4 programme is just the latest project she has been involved with since winning ITV2’s hit reality series Love Island.

She has been making headlines lately though, as Amber recently delighted fans with the news that she had come out in a Twitter post.

It was an accident though, but one Amber later confirmed by saying: "I meant exactly what I said."

Here is everything Amber Gill has been doing since Love Island.

What has Amber Gill been doing since Love Island 2019?

Before Amber ever stepped into the villa, she trained as a beauty therapist.

Born in Newcastle, she made the move to London after her victory on the ITV2 show, getting her own apartment in the process.

Soon after, she set up her own fashion collection with MissPap and it is now estimated to be worth a whopping £1million.

The 25 year-old hasn’t completely left her days in the villa behind her though, as she regularly appears on Love Island: Aftersun.

She also makes regular appearances on Loose Women and Saturday Night Takeaway.

It isn't just TV, as Amber also wrote a novel for Mills & Boon, titled Until I Met You.

It’s a love story that features more than one explicit scene, something she admitted was awkward writing as she knew her mum would read it.

In an interview with BBC’s Radio 1 Newsbeat, she said: "If we're talking Nando's spice level, it's like a medium.

"When I was writing those scenes I was trying to avoid being sexy, but you can't avoid it. No one wants a mellow book, we all need a little bit of spice."

Her biggest new role since leaving the island is Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, with Channel 4 recently announcing her inclusion.

The show will be kicking off in early September on the channel.

Who is Amber Gill dating now?

After Love Island, Amber claimed Greg O’Shea brutally dumped her via text.

In 2021, Amber appeared on Loose Women and spoke about the breakup, saying: "We were texting each other. Basically all I wanted was a bit of effort from him to come to London or Newcastle to come and see me, and I just was like, 'Oh, I'm going to have to give up if you don't put the effort in', and then he was like, 'Okay, bye'.

"I think there was a bit of miscommunication, but I think if you don't want to be with someone, you don't want to be with someone."

However, Greg rejected this sequence of events, offering his own version of the breakup.

The rugby player said: "I think [Amber] expected me to fight for it but I had to be realistic and look at it as a proper relationship and not the Love Island winners.

"This was all on FaceTime, then I had to go to [rugby] training, so I put my phone down and I came back after an hour and my phone was blowing up, an article was released 'Greg breaks up with Amber over text.’

“I couldn't believe it."

Back in January 2022, Amber was seen with her criminal ex-boyfriend Rory Colhoun.

He was jailed for four years in 2017 for beating up two doormen, leaving one in hospital.

The pair were spotted have dinner together, sparking rumours the two were dating again.

A source told Mail Online: “Amber started dating Rory again last year after accepting his past.

“They talked about everything that happened when Rory was younger and have moved forward together as a couple.

“Amber has taken a big step in relocating to Dubai, but she loves the place, and it was important for her and Rory to have a fresh start where not everyone knows who they are.”

Neither of the pair commented on the allegations.

However, now the star isn’t looking for a new man at all.

Is Amber Gill gay?

Amber has confirmed her coming out in an interview.

In early July, Amber tweeted: “Switching teams was the best decision I made in my life.”

She later added: “Watching men makes me feel ill I couldn’t put myself through it again.”

Amber then confirmed her coming out while appearing on Access All Areas on FUBAR Radio.

She explained: “Accidentally, yeah. I remember looking at it [the tweet] and thinking, ’S**t, what have I said?’”

“A lot of my friends were like: ‘If you were gonna do it any way, that’s the typical way that you would do that.’

“Normally people have these lovely, beautiful stories and lovely, beautiful real Instagram posts, like just lush.

“I’ve put ‘switching teams’ on a tweet and that’s how I came out!”

She then said that she doesn’t have a “lady in her life” but is “open to it” if the right person comes along.
