Corrie’s Katie McGlynn looks glum after row with Love Island’s Maura and Chris

The TV Choice Awards, one of the biggest nights in the small screen calendar, was held in a swanky central London hotel last night.

A number of famous faces and soap stars attended, along with this year's batch of Love Island contestants.

While leaving the Park Lane venue, and looking noticeably worse for wear, the evening's festivities were cut short as a heated conversation appeared to break out between Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn and Love Island stars Maura Higgins, Curtis Pritchard and Chris Taylor.

Things appeared tense between the foursome as Katie flung her arms in the air while talking to Maura.

Katie, who plays Sinead in the soap, was spotted looking annoyed during a row with the Irish ring girl while partner Curtis and pal Chris were on-hand trying to fan the flames.

Clearly not happy with something, the stars were spotted in the lobby of the hotel where Maura was seen putting her hand on Chris' chest while Curtis awkwardly looked on.

Playing the protective boyfriend, Curtis stood to the side as Maura appeared to rant at Chris about something.

Katie made sure her feelings were heard as they made a number of hand gestures at the newly-single reality TV star.

Later in the evening, and putting the spat behind them, Curtis was spotted protectively kissing his girlfriend's forehead as they waited for their pick up.

Katie and Maura left the event hand in hand – but judging by Katie's face, the tense chat had left a bitter taste in her mouth.

Before the event kicked off, Maura lit up the red carpet in a glamorous bejewelled gown with an open-back.

Flashing her legs and cleavage in the daring nude frock, the brunette beauty rocked a chic low bun and oversized earrings.

Katie, who is set for a dramatic exit storyline in Coronation Street, dazzled in a turquoise dress with peep-hole detailing and two splits up the side.
