Jake Cornish says he’ll support ex Liberty Poole during Dancing on Ice stint

Since leaving Love Island, fan favourite Liberty Poole has bagged one huge deal after another.

She landed a brand deal with Skinny Tan, which is believed to be a six figure sum, the same amount as her partnership with In The Style and her own collection with underwear and lingerie brand Boux Avenue.

Liberty announced on Instagram that she would be taking part in the fourteenth series of Dancing On Ice: “I’m going to be learning to dance…on ice! Wish me luck! So excited to join the show that I’ve loved watching for years”.

Jake Cornish spoke to OK! about his ex girlfriend Liberty’s confirmed appearance in the new series of Dancing On Ice: “Fair play to her. I think she’ll be quite good. The challenges we did like when we performed Grease, that was quite good.

"I showed her some moves and she picked them up quite quickly. I wish her all the best and I’m sure I’ll be watching. I don’t even know if she likes dancing but I hope she enjoys it enough!”

Liberty and Jake had a rocky Love Island journey after joining forces on the first episode of the popular dating show and stuck together throughout their time in the villa, despite facing numerous concerns about their relationship from fellow islanders.

Islanders and fans alike began to accuse Jake of playing games and being disingenuous with his feelings towards Liberty.

The cracks began to show and eventually Liberty decided to call off their partnership and to leave Love Island together after a seven week romance, just three short days before the season finale.

The islanders received counselling sessions upon their departure and despite some negative comments from fans of the show, he handled it well.

“I got my phone two days after me and Lib walked out because you have to do social media and mental health training. When I turned my phone on I had 7,000 WhatsApp messages and my Instagram went crazy,” Jake told OK!.

“I had a lot of good and some bad, I’d say it was 99% good and 1% bad. But that’s life and you’re not going to please everyone. I had a brilliant experience and I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
