Jennifer Aniston, 53, made a joke about her marriage to Brad Pitt, 58, on the finale episode of Ellen Degeneres’s show.

The Friends star returned for the show's final episode, 19 years after being its very first guest back in 2003.

During her chat with Ellen, 64, Jennifer reflected on how she dealt with the end of Friends, joking she “leaned into” ending things, including her marriage to Brad.

She said: “I got a divorce and went into therapy. Oh, and then I did a movie called The Break-Up. I just kinda leaned into the end.

“I just was like, ‘you know what guys, let’s just make this a completely new chapter.’”

Ellen hilariously responded, “Let’s end everything,” followed by Jennifer, who quipped: “Let’s just end everything and then start new.”

Brad and Jennifer first met in a casual meeting through their managers in 1994 but didn’t go on their first date until four years later.

After they hooked up, the A-listers became one of the most beloved showbiz couples of all time, with people around the world heavily invested in their relationship.

Jennifer divorced Brad after five years of marriage in 2005, a year after ending Friends.

Their marriage ended during the same period when Brad met Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr And Mrs Smith.

Despite their turbulent history, Jennifer has insisted she and Brad are friends, and the exes even landed at the centre of reconciliation speculation in recent years.

Jennifer told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show last year, “Brad and I are buddies. We’re friends…And we speak.”

The Rachel actress was the very first guest on the first episode of Ellen’s hit talk show back in 2003.

She closed out her recent interview by circling back to the gift she gave Ellen on the very first episode – a “Welcome” matt.

The Friends star then gave Ellen another matt, this one reading, “Thanks For The Memories.”

Over the course of the show’s 19-year run, it has won 12 Daytime Emmys for best talk show, more than any other talk show in history.
