Jeremy Clarkson slams Sheryl Underwood for saying Sharon race row gave her PTSD

Jeremy Clarkson is on a mission to stop woke-fearing bosses banning workplace nicknames.

The ex-Top Gear loudmouth said businesses are under growing pressure to outlaw friendly monikers over fears it will leave them vulnerable to snowflakes launching tribunals for alleged discrimination and stress.

Raging against the prospect of woke workers forcing bosses to strip all fun from the nine-to-five grind, Jezza seethed: “There is no doubt in my mind that in the current climate I could contact my old school and say my life had been materially affected by the nickname I was given.

“And it would have to cough up.

“It’s the same with the army, where everyone is basically called S***head.”

The 61-year-old admitted he was called Ness after the monster as a schoolkid – but never dreamed of claiming it had the power to inflict post traumatic stress disorder.

He ranted there have recently been tribunals over nicknames including one launched by an ageing employee who was made redundant after being called Yoda.

Jeremy also raged against black comedian Sheryl Underwood, 57.

She’s claiming she is suffering PTSD after her row on US chat show The Talk with Sharon Osbourne, 68, who backed Piers Morgan for slating a spotlight-shirking former Suits star for her attack on the royals.

He blasted: “She reckons that after a brief bit of lady gossip she is suffering from the exact same problem that soldiers have after they’ve survived a bombing raid.

“If I were to give her a nickname it would be Wetty.”

He partly blames the world’s ultra-sensitivity on a publicity shy former actress who recently went on TV to moan to Oprah Winfrey she thinks the royal family is racist.

Jezza vented about his love of rude nicknames: “It’d be such a shame if nicknames were crushed into history.

“Because reducing a person’s whole being to one basic component is art form.

“One of my oldest friends has Tourette’s. My mum gave him a nickname that has stuck. It’s C***y. And I know that sounds unkind, but it was born of fondness. And that’s sort of the point of the nickname.”
