Although the sportswoman is hoping to complete the ITV reality show’s four-week stint in the jungle, it’s clear to see she is already missing home after she told reporters at Brisbane Airport that she was thinking of them before she entered the jungle.

So who exactly is Shelly and how did she meet the famous footballer? Let’s take a peek at what we know…

It is understood that 37-year-old Shelly being the younger sister of former England footballer Rachel Unitt met her future wife through the sport.

From the very beginning of their relationship, the blonde beauty has been by her side travelling the world with her sister and her fiancée to watch their matches in person.

The business owner first got a glimpse of fame when she and Jill went on holiday together after the 2019 World Cup, where she was shocked at the positive public response.

The Chronicle reported she said: “Everyone was recognising her, and she had a lot of time for everyone. They were telling her she’d played well, that everyone was getting together in their family homes and making time to watch these games.”

And it appears as though their romance has only gone from strength to strength after the sporting champion got down on one knee and proposed to Shelly back in March 2020.

Taking to Instagram to share the joyous news, the midfielder shared a sweet snap of the happy couple drinking a cup of coffee together while her partner donned a glistening engagement ring.

She captioned the post: “The best coffee so far [ring and heart emoji]” which sent her loyal legion of fans wild as they rushed to the comments to pass on their congratulatory messages.

Since then, the happy couple have gone on to become business partners after they opened a coffee shop called Boxx2Boxx in the heart of Manchester back in April 2021.

After unveiling their business venture, the pair explained the meaning behind their unique name which was inspired by Jill infamous role as a box-to-box midfielder on the pitch.

While the footballer may not be able to man the coffee shop during her time Down Under, it’s clear that Shell and the team in the show will be cheering her on.

After the show launches, the team at Boxx2boxx posted a large signpost outside the shop to encourage their customers to vote for the pro while she competes in the jungle.

Over on her Instagram, the Euro champion regularly shares sweet snaps alongside her partner Shelly, with the dynamic duo recently jetting off for a sun-soaked holiday to Split in the heart of Croatia.

In a carousel of snaps from their gorgeous trip, the campmate gave fans a glimpse inside their fun-filled activities which included night time paddle boarding sessions, snorkelling and relaxing days at the beach.

Back in July, her loving partner was spotted in the crowd alongside Jill’s family at Wembley arena where she saw the Lionesses win the Euro 2022 finals against Germany.

As she celebrated her epic victory on the pitch, Jill shared a slew of snaps of her loved ones including a snap of Shelly, which she captioned: “I have too much love for these humans!

"MY TEAM! The best memories are the ones we make together. WE ONLY WENT AND WON [trophy emoji].”
