Only Fools star hasn’t used ‘tacky’ chat up lines but ladies still interested
Steven Woodcock has revealed that he doesn't use chat-up lines from Only Fools and Horses but that he still gets attention from ladies due to the character he played.
He spoke on a Facebook Live with The Daily Star where he spoke about his career, the 40th anniversary of Only Fools and Horses and his previous role in the show.
In the live stream he said: "I haven't used any of the chat-up lines on the ladies I don't think, that's tacky.
"Does it get you recognised by the ladies more or let's say get more interest from the ladies? Yes it does, I mean I'd be a liar if I said it didn't.
"Do I take ladies up on it? Not particularly really, I choose the ladies I want to be with but yes, of course I get a lot of attention from the women from it – but that's television all over to be quite honest."
This week is the 40th anniversary since Only Fools and Horses first aired.
The much loved comedy show featured the Trotter brothers navigating their lives in South London which first aired on BBC One in 1981.
The television theme tunes sang by cast and creators – Only Fools to The Monkees
The programme starred David Jason as Del Boy and Nicholas Lyndhurst as his younger brother Rodney
They managed to win numerous awards throughout the time it aired including recognition from BAFTA and the national Television Awards.
Whilst he was on the show, Steven played Jevon who featured in just five episodes because he got offered a long term contract on EastEnders.
Steven featured as a regular cast member on Eastenders for three years between 1990 and 1993 where he played Clyde Tavernier.
Whilst on the soap, Steven's character faced a lot of ups and downs including racial discrimination and being accused of a murder.
Clyde moved to Albert Square in July 1990 where he then got his first job at the Queen Vic.
He left the square in 1993 after a series of troubling events to start a new life, but Steven teased that Clyde may be making a come back.
