Sean Connery’s cause of death confirmed after James Bond actor’s heart failure

Sir Sean Connery's cause of death has been confirmed after the actor died nearly a month ago aged 90.

The James Bond star died in his sleep in the early hours of Halloween.

Connery's death certificate confirmed that the Hollywood actor died from respiratory failure as a result of pneumonia old age and atrial fibrillation – an irregular heart beat.

TMZ acquired the certificate, and showed how the film star died on October 31 at 1:30 AM at his luxurious mansion in Nassau.

Sean's family announced his death last month, as they confirmed the sad news in a statement.

They said he "died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family", adding: "There will be a private ceremony followed by a memorial yet to be planned once the virus has ended."

The actor was the first to portray James Bond in film, starring in the likes of Dr No, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again.
