You Can Thank Sasha Obama for Barack Obama’s Cool 2020 Playlist

On Saturday, former president Barack Obama released his annual list of favorite songs from the past year. Including hits by Megan Thee Stallion, Bad Bunny, and H.E.R., the roundup is a solid mix of hip-hop, R&B, and rock. If you’re wondering how the 44th POTUS keeps his music taste so fresh, you can look no further than his 19-year-old daughter, Sasha Obama, his “music guru” and trusted playlist curator.

“Here are some of my favorite songs of the year,” President Obama wrote in his tweet. “As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to.”

Songs include “Levitating” by Dua Lipa featuring DaBaby; “Ghosts” by Bruce Springsteen; “Lemonade” by Internet Money featuring Don Toliver, Gunna, and Nav; “Blue World” by Mac Miller; and “Kyoto” by Phoebe Bridgers. Take a look at his (read: Sasha’s) full picks here.
