Production on the sixth season of Breaking Bad’s acclaimed prequel series plowed ahead over the last month without its lead star, Bob Odenkirk. The TV legend known for his Emmy nominated turn as shady lawyer Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman announced on Twitter he has officially returned to the set of the popular AMC series.
Messages of support have poured in following Bob Odenkirk’s announcement he had returned to the set of Better Call Saul.
The thrilling crime drama is currently shooting its sixth season, and had to make do without its leading man when Odenkirk was hospitalised after collapsing on set.
On July 27, the actor was taken to hospital after having ‘a small heart attack’.
Several days later, on August 7, Odenkirk confirmed he was well on his way to recovery and assured his followers he was ‘doing great’.
Just over a month later, the star, 58, revealed he was back in the makeup chair and ready to shoot his final scenes as the iconic TV con man.
Odenkirk took to Twitter with a new behind-scenes-snap, writing: “Back to work on Better Call Saul!
“So happy to be here and living this specific life surrounded by such good people.”
He then credited makeup artist Cheri Montesanto for making him camera ready.
The news was greeted with overwhelming relief from both fans of the show and Bob Odenkirk’s work in general.
As one of the most beloved actors currently working in TV and film, his followers were anxious for any updates regarding his health.
Thankfully, the star is back in action and is expected to continue working on his additional projects once Better Call Saul wraps production.
Upon seeing the latest news, hundreds of well-wishers took to the comments to send Odenkirk support as he returned to filming.

“Thank f*****g God!” one fan exclaimed. “Glad you’re doing OK.
“You’re a national treasure kind sir. Thanks for the hours of entertainment you’ve provided.”
Another user tweeted: “Very few actors have created a bond with the audience like Bob in this role.
“It’ll be great to see the storyline come to a conclusion, but it’s even better seeing a healthy Odenkirk taking it to the finish line.”
A third fan said: “Do you know how happy you just made thousands of people, just by walking into this room?
“Welcome back, Mr. Odenkirk. We’re all so relieved that you are well again.”
After debuting in the second season of AMC’s hit drama Breaking Bad, Saul Goodman quickly became one of the show’s most popular characters.
He was eventually granted his own spin-off series, which explored his beginnings as former scam artist Jimmy McGill.
AMC have since confirmed the series will conclude with its sixth instalment, consisting of 13 episodes and expected to premiere at some point next year.
Better Call Saul season 6 will premiere in early 2022 on AMC.
