Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli is currently in America for Dancing With the Stars and due to travel restrictions to stop the spread of coronavirus, he is absent from the BBC show’s live performances. He is however watching the celebrities from the US and will appear via video link each week for the results show. Tonight, he gave his thoughts on Caroline Quentin, Maisie Smith and JJ Chalmers.

Bruno began: “Hello Claudia! Hello everyone! What a show!

“Strictly 200 is back! I am telling you back with a bang. I spotted a few very, very exciting things.

“Sweet Caroline, really she took the Express train to the nation’s heart. JJ, what a surprise! Oh my God, so sweet and so charming.

“And I’m telling you, that Samba, week one. Coming out with such a performance, it really is incredible Maisie, well done!

“Can’t wait to see you all! Ciao!”

Claudia Winkleman confirmed Bruno would be back next week for the first live results show.

However, as Bruno shared his critique, viewers were incredibly distracted by his new look.

“Why does Bruno Tonioli look like Jamie Laing’s ‘The Ghost Of Christmas Future’? #Strictly,” one viewer joked on Twitter.

Another added: “Suprised to see Bruno with his silver fox hair ..doesn’t suit him at all #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing.”

A third shared: “Did we miss the memo that you have to have a blonde pixie cut on #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly.

“Bruno, Gorka and Karen all going for the blonde do! (Yes Jamie too but he had it before the show).”

“Bruno looks so much better as a silver fox! Love it #Strictly,” someone else posted.

Meanwhile, former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith is the favourite to be eliminated first next week.

She is evens to be sent packing first and Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Jacqui’s time on the Strictly dancefloor looks set to come to an end in the next couple of days with punters clearly convinced she’ll be the first to go.”
