Nina Lucas (played by Mollie Gallagher) was on a mission to get revenge in Monday’s instalments of Coronation Street after discovering Corey Brent (Maximums Evans) would make his debut for Weatherfield County’s first team. However, when Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) returns to the cobbles, Nina may end up being arrested for the mother’s vengeful acts despite Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) niece urging Abi to reconsider harming the acquitted murderer.
In Monday’s double-bill Nina asked a journalist from The Gazette to write an article retaliating against Corey for waiving his anonymity.
“You’ve heard of Corey Brent?” Nina asked and she replied: “He’s signed with Weatherfield County, he also recently gave a press conference saying he [was accused of murdering Seb Franklin]?”
“He also said he was found innocent and ever since then me and Seb’s family have been harassing him and making false accusations,” Nina said.
“I want you to write an article about him telling the truth and get it in the Gazette.”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Chris said. “Despite what you might think in the eyes of the law he’s innocent.
“If the Gazette runs a story saying otherwise they could be sued for libel – we’d never print it.”
Nina questioned: “He’s allowed to say lies to anyone who will listen and I don’t get a say?”
The journalist replied: “I know it seems unfair and I’m sorry…”
Cutting her off, Nina raged: “Stop saying sorry it’s all I’ve heard for months.
“Sorry about what happened to you, sorry that Seb’s dead, sorry his murderer got away with it, I’m sick of people saying sorry, I’m sick of it all.”
Later, Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) showed Nina that Corey had dedicated his debut goal to Seb.
“He’s laughing at us all like it’s some sort of joke.
“I know it’s hard but you can’t let him get to you,” Kevin urged and she hit back: “Let him get to me? I want to kill him and I swear on my life if he was here I’d do it.”
Nina’s mission to get revenge on Corey almost culminated in an attempt on the footballer’s life as Roy’s niece prepared to run him over before being stopped by Roy.

“Making any TV in a pandemic is hard, especially if you’ve been doing it non-stop for over 12 months – so I have to tip my hat to everyone for their tireless efforts in continuing to raise the bar, against all the odds.”
