Coronation Street’s Abi Franklin kidnapped by drug-dealing ex as Kevin’s fears grow?

Kevin (played by Michael Le Vell) has tried to be there for Abi (Sally Carman) since the court result which saw Coronation Street villain Corey (Maximus Evans) getting away with the murder of Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni). Abi left after claiming she needs some time away from the Street, but Kevin has been panicking after he was unable to get hold of her. In upcoming scenes in the ITV soap, he bumps into Seb’s dodgy dad, he acts suspicious when questioned about Abi. Could he have kidnapped the grieving mum because she hadn’t told him about Seb?

When Kevin overhears Roy Cropper (David Neilson) voicing his concerns over Nina Lucas’ (Mollie Gallagher) mental state, Kevin’s anxieties about Abi increase.

Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) worries him further when she tells him she hasn’t heard from Abi either.

He pleads for his fiance to get in touch via voicemail and frantically goes to the police about her disappearance.

But his fears increase when he gets a notification from the bank of a £5K withdrawal from their joint account.

He assumes that she may be using drugs again, but could something more sinister be going on?

Sickened by the thought of what Abi’s taken the money for, Kevin visits the Dog & Gun with a photo of Abi, asking the regulars if she’s been in.

Discovering Seb’s dad Tez (Stephen Lord) is in the bar, he breaks the news of Seb’s murder and explains his fears that Abi has turned back to drugs in her grief.

Tez assures him that he hasn’t seen or heard from Abi.

Unable to shake his doubts, Kevin gets in his car and tracks down Tez, and spots him doing a drug deal.

As Tez samples the goods from his drugs deal, Kevin edges nearer and snaps a photo on his phone.

He stands up to Tez, convinced he lied and has really seen Abi.

Kevin orders Tez to tell him all he knows or he will send the incriminating photo to his probation officer.

Tez pretends to Kevin that he caught sight of Abi weeks ago but didn’t speak to her.

This prompts Kevin to leave Abi a heartfelt voicemail, explaining how much he loves and misses her.

But could Taz have kidnapped Abi while she was fleeing Weatherfield as revenge for not being told about Seb?

It’s likely he could have read about what happened in the news and planned to get revenge on Abi.

Perhaps he is hiding her somewhere, which would explain why she hasn’t been in touch with anyone.

It could also explain the missing money – he’s likely to have taken her bank card and forced her to give him the details.

Will Kevin be able to figure out where Abi is?

With Taz acting suspiciously about his ex, it’s clear he is hiding something.

And as he’s still dealing drugs, he’s likely trying to get money from Abi and used her exit from Weatherfield as an opportunity.

With Kevin growing increasingly concerned, viewers will be hoping Abi makes an appearance soon.

Will she manage to escape herself?

The last time she was seen, she was growing frustrated with Kevin for not understanding how she felt.

She wanted to lash out after the court verdict, and couldn’t face being at home.

Weatherfield residents are worried she has fallen back into her old ways and has started using drugs again – but it seems Taz might have something to do with her vanishing.

She admitted she felt like using again after Seb’s death but refused to because it isn’t what he would have wanted.

Coronation Street continues on Monday at 7.30pm on ITV.
