Corrie Ryan’s prison exit teased as he awaits sentencing over insurance scam

Coronation Street favourite Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) appears in court next week.

Michelle Connor's son is charged and instructed to attend magistrates’ court in upcoming scenes following a staged break-in at the Bistro.

Weatherfield copper Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) confirms the CCTV footage is damning evidence against him.

Ryan tells Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) they should stage fake CCTV footage of a masked gunman forcing him to rob the bistro but she refuses to cooperate.

Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) catches Ryan trying to fix the Bistro camera himself and tells him to accept his punishment.

As the district judge accepts his guilty plea, Ryan awaits sentencing.

Debbie instructed Ryan to stage a robbery so that she can claim on the insurance in recent scenes.

Ryan told Debbie that he's going to fuse the electrics and grab the cash from the safe.

The Bistro was later plunged into darkness and Debbie reluctantly helped with sketchy Ryan’s plan.

As customers from the Bistro filed into the Rovers, Ryan stuffed the cash in his gym bag but Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) arrived.

Ryan tried to hide but as Leanne flicked the switch the lights came back on.

Clutching his bag of stolen cash, a nervous Ryan came out from his hiding place and made out to Leanne he’d just arrived.

Leanne headed back to the Rovers to tell the customers that Casino Night is back on.

Ryan assured Debbie that the cash is stashed in his bedroom.

However, Leanne was horrified to discover all the money gone and Debbie ordered Ryan to call the police.

Will Ryan end up leaving Weatherfield following the insurance scam?

Ryan has been a resident of Coronation Street since 2007.

He's been living in the Rovers since being kicked out of No.6 by Alya Nazir after he cheated on her with Daisy Midgeley.

Juggling DJ gigs and working as a barman, Ryan has been struggling for money and ended up planning the robbery as a desperate bid to get some cash.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
