Eastenders' fans left fuming over disrespectful 'extended' episode in tribute of Dot Cotton | The Sun

EASTENDERS'fans have blasted the BBC show for their disrespectful extended episode in tribute of Dot Cotton.

Viewers took to social media to vent their fury as they felt June Brown, who had played the iconic character for more than 30 years, deserved more than a few minutes extension on Monday's episode.

June sadly passed away in April this year aged 95 and had starred in Eastenders for 31 years becoming somewhat of a national treasure, for her portrayal of the long suffering Albert Square resident.

One fan wrote: "Extended by 7 minutes WOW Dot deserved more."

Another wrote: "7 minutes extra is not extended."

And another added:"Its not extended that long 5-10 minutes longer."

The tribute episode on Monday 12 will feature Dot's funeral and this follows last week's double bill which left viewers in tears as Walford's residents find out of her death for the first time.

Soon after last week's episode aired one fan wrote: "You could see at the end of tonight’s episode how hard that was for them all filming with such real emotions coming from them."

But its not just Dot's character that has come to an end. Milly Zero, who played Dot's granddaughter Dotty Cotton recently confirmed she was leaving the show to pursue new adventures.

Last month, Milly said: "After 3 & a half years – I have decided that my journey with the icon that is Dotty Cotton has come to an end."
