EastEnders’ Lacey Turner teases Stacey and Kheerat ‘sizzling’ romance after one-night stand

EastEnders actress Lacey Turner has teased a potential romance between her character Stacey Slater and Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Singh Deol).

Soap fans already know that the pair previously enjoyed a night together, but nothing more came of it. However, Lacey, who recently returned to the BBC soap following her maternity leave, said she thinks there could still be a spark between the two that could be explored further in the coming months.

The 33-year-old actress teased: “You’d never put them as a match but they had a one-night stand a long time ago and there are some feelings still lingering.”

However, like all good soap romances, it’s bound to have some hurdles – not least because the Slaters are currently butting heads with Kheerat’s mum Suki (Balvinder Sopal).

Lacey continued to say: “It will be interesting to see what happens!”

“There is a bit of a war between the Slaters and the Panesars so that will make things a bit complicated.”

This isn’t the first time Lacey has hinted at a relationship between Stacey and Kheerat since they first became involved in October 2020.

The mum-of-two recently admitted: “There’s definitely something there. They had that one night stand, and there’s something sizzling between them.”

“Whether it turns into something or not, I guess we’ll have to find out. But there’s most definitely something there.”

She added: “Stacey would love that, just to annoy Suki! They really do hate each other.”

This comes after Stacey made an explosive return to Albert Square – only to drop the huge bombshell on ex Martin Fowler (James Bye) that she was married to someone else.

And while Martin is still harbouring feelings for Stacey, Lacey is unsure whether the pair will be able to put their past with Ruby (Louisa Lytton) behind them and reunite.

Lacey explained: “I think they will always have something between them but there’s a lot of damage done and it would take a lot to get over that but who knows.”

“They definitely have a hold over each other so we will see how it plays out. Stacey is feeling very hurt by Martin at the moment after everything that happened with Ruby.”
