Emily Sweeney (played by Laura Spencer) was Raj Koothrappali’s (Kunal Nayyar) first ever serious relationship. At the beginning of the CBS sitcom, Raj wasn’t even able to talk to women so he had made plenty of progress by the time he met Emily. Sadly, it wasn’t mean to be as the pair broke up after almost three seasons.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from The Big Bang Theory.

Emily and Raj started dating during season seven, despite hitting a few bumps in the road.

One of these was the fact Emily had already gone on a horrible date with Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) before he started seeing Bernadette (Melissa Rauch).

Nevertheless, they hit it off and stayed together until he decided to end it during season nine, episode 15, The Valentino Submergence.

He did so in order to pursue Claire but she turned him down and he went grovelling back to Emily who turned him away after sleeping together one last time.

“Quite often, there isn’t more to examine than rotten flesh or mere bones.”

There are some other projects Spencer has in the pipeline as well, according to her IMDB page.
