Emmerdale fans accuse bosses of ‘reusing old storylines’ as Ethan takes HIV test

Emmerdale fans have admitted they’re unimpressed by the overused HIV storyline after Eddy revealed he might have HIV to his recent partner Ethan Anderson.

The sexy lawyer was forced to address his former partner Eddy during Tuesday night’s episode of the Yorkshire-based soap despite his repeated attempts to block his number after Eddy repeatedly reached out to him.

When Eddy interrupted Ethan’s latest date, the brunette hunk admitted that he might have contracted HIV when he found out his long-term partner had been unfaithful and contracted the disease.

But it appears the latest storyline has fallen flat with many fans of the show, as viewers admitted they were bored and unhappy with Ethan’s consequences for his one-time fling.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their disappointment on the show, as the overused storyline made its way into the village once more.

One user wrote: “I knew it. Typical soap."

Another agreed: “Hands up all of us you knew that boringly predictable Ethan storyline was coming up. I know HIV is an important issue but it seems to be another storyline that’s just plucked out of nowhere.”

“Hasn’t the HIV storyline been done to death? Time to move on, soapland,” another chimed.
