Emmerdale character Jamie Tate, who is played by Alexander Lincoln, has left fans in complete shock after insulting Lydia Dingle over her dead baby.

Viewers know that in Lydia's backstory, the character suffered a horrific loss as a teenager when her baby was stillborn.

Lydia, who is portrayed by Karen Blick in the popular ITV soap opera, had no choice but to bury her dead son herself so the children's home wouldn't find out she had been pregnant to begin with, leaving her completely devastated.

In hopes to make a fresh start, she ran away and changed her name, only to find herself haunted by the memory after her baby's body was discovered.

And now, in a recent episode, Jamie used that vital piece of information against her.

Jamie could be seen having an argument with his ex Andrea over their daughter Millie, as Andrea told Jamie Millie doesn't want to see her dad. "Jamie whatever this is, just don't. I've got a client to go to," Andrea started.

"Oh that's more important than our daughter? What gives you the right to use her against me like this?" Jamie quipped as Andrea responded: "How can you even say that after you used her to get yourself out of trouble? You can't even see yourself."

Clearly unimpressed, Jamie, whose actor Alexander has a rose tattoo, went on: "So what is this, you're protecting her from me? Or are you trying to score points?"

"I'm not the one who knocked someone over and left them for dead," she replied. "And I didn't try to frame my ex girlfriend just out of spite."

Jamie then said Belle Dingle, played by Eden Taylor-Draper, "brought it on herself" as Andrea accused of him of trying to justify the behaviour. She then called him "pathetic" and claimed Millie, his daughter, is "scared" of him.

Lydia then stepped on the scene to interject and take Andrea's side as she said: "And who could blame her? To think I gave you the benefit of the doubt. I really thought you were better than this."

Lading a massive blow, Jamie immediately hit back: "Yeah, all this from the woman who buried her dead baby in a hole in the dirt?"
