Emmerdale’s Gabby Thomas (played by Rosie Bentham) could soon be left heartbroken after unexpectedly going into labour alone. Gabby, who is carrying Jamie Tate’s (Alexander Lincoln) baby, has been planning to make a secret escape with Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen). However, next week on the ITV soap, Gabby ends up in the early stages of labour alone during a power cut. With no one around to help and no power in her phone, could Gabby lose her baby?
Gabby has been waiting to give birth to Jamie’s child, but when she goes into labour unexpectedly and alone next week, she fears the worst.
In scenes yet to air Gabby invites herself to Laurel Thomas’ (Charlotte Bellamy) for dinner with the secret aim to say her own private goodbye.
Gabby is left feeling overwhelmed with emotion after lunch as she is aware of what she is about to leave behind.
On her return home, Gabby finally snaps back at Jamie’s mother Kim Tate (Claire King) to warn her she won’t be part of her baby’s life.
Still feeling overwhelmed with what she is about to do, Gabby lets Diane know that they need to leave sooner.
But Gabby’s hasty attitude may also put a spanner in the works for Diane, who is enjoying time with friends and family.
Meanwhile, Gabby does her best to pack her suitcase as she suffers from major pains in her stomach.
When she tries to heave her suitcase out of Home Farm, she crumples to the floor in agony and starts going into labour.
However, there is nobody around to help her through and there is no power in her phone to contact anyone.
To make matters worse, the house is in complete darkness due to a power cut.
Will Diane go looking for Gabby? If she finds her, will she be able to call for an ambulance in time?
If Gabby is left helpless and in excruciating pain for much longer, could she end up losing her baby?
Sticking to her side of the plan, Diane starts to pack as she prepares to collect Gabby and escape the village.
However, she has no idea that Gabby is in turmoil and cannot contact anyone for help.
Could Diane jump to the conclusion that Gabby has left the village without her already?
Or will she search far and wide to find Gabby before leaving the area?
On Friday’s instalment of the ITV soap, Gabby was confronted by Kim about Jamie, whom she thinks is still alive following a car accident, after police failed to find his body in a lake.
Gabby told Kim: “I didn’t mean anything [I’ve said] about Jamie.”
Kim said: “It’s both very important we are on the same page, Millie’s [Tate] got an awful lot to deal with and I won’t have anyone making it worse with idle gossip and lies. Do you understand?”
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
