Dan Wootton has left many viewers of GB News delighted with his current affairs show after hosting what many have called a "refreshing" lockdown debate.
Whilst presenting his 9pm show on Thursday evening (June 17), TV anchor Dan began by addressing the topic of the UK lockdown extension.
This comes as 49 backbench Conservative MPs rebelled and voted against an extension to the lockdown, and former PM Theresa May chose to abstain from the vote alongside 12 other Tories, after being highly critical of the ongoing regulations.
It also follows Prime Minister Boris Johnson's order to delay the initial 'Freedom Day' of June 21, when all lockdown restrictions including social distancing were set to be scrapped, on Monday (June 14).
Kicking off with the Coronavirus topic, Dan said: "It’s amazing to me how little coverage last night’s vote to extend the current lockdown and push back Freedom Day by a month has received."
Defending the rebel MPs, Dan said they should not be seen as a "group of cranks and their arguments deserve to be heard and debated".
As the Talk Radio star opened up the discussion to the rest of his panel, he introduced his four live guests – which included Political Correspondent Tom Harwood, Free Speech presenter Andrew Doyle, and comedian Konstantin Kisin.
After the four went toe-to-toe on different aspects of the lockdown and debated whether or not restrictions should have been extended, many viewers of the evening show flocked to social media to share how pleased they were with the broadcast.
One happy viewer on Twitter commented: "It's so refreshing to hear this kind of a discussion on a British news channel.
"The debate hosted by @danwootton including @andrewdoyle_com @konstantinKisin and @tomhfh on @GBNEWS is the single best conversation I have heard on a news show on the topic of Covid."

A second impressed user tweeted: "Watching @danwootton on @GBNEWS is so much more civilised and intelligent debate for a change."
A third satisfied viewer agreed, penning: "Fair point by @danwootton, unlike in the past, opposition to this extension to lifting covid restrictions can't be dismissed as a bunch of cranks.
"A good range of Tory MPs voted against/abstained to it last night because they had no legitimate excuse to tell their constituents."
A fourth fan had apparently been boycotting news channels until now, saying: "Finally able to watch a news programme again".

A fifth wrote in: "Calm, measured criticism of the woke fanatics."
A sixth then wrote: "I've now watched #GBNews for the last three days and I'm loving it."
And a final user referred to the technical difficulties the show has faced since its launch, adding: "Just watching GBNews and I'm pleased to say that the lighting seems to have improved. I think a month from now #GBNews will be absolutely up and running."
