Hamza Yassin and his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal have been crowned the winners of Strictly Come Dancing 2022.

The 32-year-old beat the likes of Helen Skelton, Molly Rainford and Fleur East during Saturday night's (December 17) grand final and couldn't hide his delight at getting his hands on the glitterball trophy.

He said after the win: "Words can't describe how I feel. I want to thank one person, Jowita, you're an angel disguised as a human being. This is the best thing that's ever happened to me."

Jowita added: "I think anything is possible. He came here with no dancing experience, with pigeon toes and he made it. I'm so proud of you."

Across the series, the Countryfile star performed countless show stopping routines alongside his partner – who only became part of the professional line up in 2021.

Hamza has been a standout star since week 1 after his incredible Foxtrot sent him straight to the top of the leaderboard with 34 points.

While he only scored 24 for his Jive and 25 for his Rumba, the Animal Park host proved he was one to watch after he narrowly missed out on a perfect score for his lift-packed Salsa.

His week 5 Quickstep was thoroughly impressive and kept him at top of the leaderboard alongside Helen Skelton.

After being awarded 33 points for his week 6 Tango, Hamza's impressive Cha Cha landed him at the top of the leaderboard once again when all three judges – except Craig Revel Horwood, awarded him a 10.

The pair followed suit in week 8 and 9, scoring 38 for both their jaw-dropping Couple's Choice routine and American Smooth.

Dancing the Argentine Tango to Libertango by Bond in week 10, Hamza scored himself second spot on the leaderboard with 37 points.

Week 11 saw Hamza dance the Samba to They Live In You from The Lion King in which he scored 36 points.

Entering the semi finals in full force, Hamza and Jowita topped the leaderboard, earning 39 and 37 points for their Charlestone and Waltz.
