Hollyoaks' Ali Bastian reveals classic Becca moments she'd like to see re-aired
Hollyoaks star Ali Bastian has revealed which episodes of the Channel 4 soap she’d love to see again.
With the serial drama on an enforced break after production was forced to shut down amid the Covid-19 pandemic, classic episodes from decades gone by have been re-airing.
This week, viewers have had the chance to revisit the iconic affair between Becca Dean and Justin Burton (Chris Fountain), and Metro.co.uk caught up with actress Ali to discuss what other classic Becca moments she’d like to see.
Ali told us: ‘Oh let me think, that’s a really good question! So much happened to her over the years!
‘There was a really really fun storyline that I liked doing, where they really developed a friendship between Becca and Mandy. It wasn’t sort of high-drama, but they really showed a strong female connection that wasn’t a catty relationship.
‘Often, female relationships are shown in a negative light unfortunately, and I think that’s a real shame and not the way it should be, but Hollyoaks developed this really fun relationship with us — we got to do some great comedy together. It was just a really nice moment, so I’d love to revisit that.
‘And then — oh God, what else did we do?! — there’ so much really! I suppose this [Becca and Justin] was a biggie for me, and they’ve picked a really really good week, but I also I think there’s a lot in when she went into labour on the stand! That was pretty mega!
‘ And then going into the journey of being in prison, and that side of things.’
‘There’s a lot more that happened after this week that they’re showing, so if the viewers are excited and interested by what they see in this week, I’d love them to show more of what the future holds for those characters!’
Make it happen, Hollyoaks!
