Escape to the Chateau has been on our screens for the past five years, with Dick Strawbridge and wife Angel Adoree documenting their progress in renovating the Château de la Motte-Husson. The couple bought the beautiful French castle with the mission in mind of bringing it back to life and fans have loved seeing how they have got on through the Channel 4 series. So it’s no wonder that so many viewers are eager to find out if they can visit the chateau themselves.
Since Château de la Motte-Husson has been thrust into the limelight, it has become a popular events venue.
Many couples have gone down the route of having their weddings there as well and is now fully booked up until 2022.
Fortunately, some tourists who would love to walk around the castle can actually get a chance to do so.
The chateau is typically only open to the public for weddings, overnight stays and events but you can also have a tour around the famous building.
Dick and Angel charge £230 for a day tour of the Château de la Motte-Husson.
This includes transport to and from Laval, lunch with wine, a tour of the grounds and an afternoon tea.
Sadly, this option isn’t available at the moment because of the coronavirus pandemic and the restrictions.
However, this is bound to resume later this year or perhaps next year.
There is also the option of staying at the chateau for an overnight trip.
According to its website, it can cost around £5,000 to stay there but the price may change depending on availability.
If you’re dreaming of holding your wedding there, the price goes up extravagantly with packages ranging from £19,000 to £38,000.
But there is another alternative if you just wish to stay on the same land as the castle.

There is an option called Chateau Under the Stars which is another way of saying glamping.
Dick and Angel have installed geodesic domes which you can sleep in and are given the choice of a floating or a land dome.
These can accommodate up to four adults and two children each and will include a shower, wood burner, small outside kitchen, barbecue area and a French breakfast delivered to you.
This still wouldn’t come cheap though as it would set you back £350 per night.
Escape to the Chateau is available to watch on Channel 4.
