Industry is a new series on HBO and the BBC and it is set in the heart of the business capital of London. The series follows graduates who work at an investment company called Pierpoint & Co. Express.co.uk has everything you need to know about who is in the cast of Industry.

Who is in the cast of Industry?

Harper Stern – Myha’la Herrold

Harper Stern is the main character in the series and she is a recent graduate who has made the decision of a lifetime to move from New York to London.

She finds it hard to find her place within the group at first, but she is a highly intelligent character who is determined to prove she made the right decision.

Newcomer Myha’la Herrold has previously starred in Modern Love, and she had a role in a short film called The Tattooed Heart.

She explained how it took a while to come to terms with the financial jargon in the show’s scripts, saying she spent the night “sweating bullets” as she read through the scenes from her Brooklyn apartment.

The star is on Instagram and she shared a video of herself discovering a huge billboard for the series, and she burst into tears. She said she was “excited, proud and emotional”.

One fan responded: “I’m so pleased for you. I know your face well. I had the privilege of working as one of the film editors on the series. I know how hard you worked and I know it wasn’t easy. You were and are GREAT! Congrats.”

Yasmin Kara-Hanani – Marisa Abela

Yasmin is another high-flying graduate who is working in the Foreign Exchange Sales department at Pierpoint.

She lacks self-belief and is always seeking validation from her peers, with many calling her a people pleaser.

At first, she thinks the key to her colleagues’ hearts is to buy them treats, but she will soon realise it will take a lot more to stay at the top.

Her character is played by Marisa Abela, who has previously starred in Cobra, Five Dates and Man in a Box.

The star is on Instagram and she posted a photo of herself with the rest of the cast ahead of the HBO release, saying: “Industry premiers tonight in the US at 10pm on HBO. If you love it a teeny tiny fraction as much as I love these people… job done.”

Gus Sackey – David Jonsson

Gus is another graduate who fits in well at Pierpoint due to his backgrounds at both Eton and Oxford, and he knows how to present himself in interviews.

He shares a room with colleague Robert, and he knows how to fit in with the company culture – unlike some of his competitors.

His character is played by David Jonsson, an actor and director who has previously starred in Endeavour and Gen Y.

The actor is from the East End of London, and Digital Spy ranked him as one of the top 30 Black British stars of tomorrow.

Jonsson is on Instagram and he has been keeping fans updated ahead of the release of Industry, and shared a photo of a giant poster for the series, with one fan saying: “Seeing this made me cry. So proud of you, my brilliant friend.”

Robert Spearing – Harry Lawtey

Robert is one of the party animals of the group and he joined the company from a working-class background, unlike some of his colleagues.

He may come across as confident and outgoing, but fans will learn he wears a suit as a cover-up so he can forget about his past.

His character is played by Harry Lawtey, who has previously starred in Marcella, The Letter for the King and City of Tiny Lights.

The star said his character is charismatic and charming – two characteristics he feels would go down well in the world of banking.

However, his idea of what qualities are needed to be successful are slightly outdated, and he must learn to stop feeling insecure on the inside.

Daria Greenock – Freya Mavor

Daria is a Vice President at the company and she represents how women can be equally as powerful as their male counterparts in the world of banking.

While her colleague Eric takes a more aggressive approach, Daria understands how there are numerous ways to get people on her side.

Her character is played by Scottish actress Freya Mavor, who is known for her role in Skins, in which she played Mini McGuinness.

The 27-year-old has also starred in The Keeper, New Worlds and The ABC Murders.

The company’s research analyst, Theo Tuck, is played by Will Tudor and The Fall actor Conor MacNeill joins the cast as Kenny Kilbane, who is vice president of Foreign Exchange Sales. Nabhaan Rizwan plays Hari, another graduate who came from a state school who must learn to feel like part of the team despite his background.
