Inside Michelle Keegan’s birthday dinner for mum Jackie with fun headband, wine and lots of selfies

MICHELLE Keegan spared no expense when it came to throwing her beloved mum a special 60th birthday dinner.

The celebrations included lots of wine, fun headbands and selfies, to commemorate the occasion.

Taking to Instagram to share the fun they were having, Michelle posted sweet pics with her mum and family.

The Our Girl star also revealed that she was the "first one" to arrive to the party, and playfully joked she had "been stood up".

She also showed her mum tucking into birthday cake, as she enjoyed some birthday fun with her famous daughter.

Michelle's family could also be seen about to tuck into a huge row of tequila shots.

The new post comes just days after Mich shared shared a series of unseen throwback pictures to mark mum Jackie’s big day.

The 34-year-old actress described her mum as her “best friend” as she celebrated her turning 60 today.

Alongside the images, she wrote: “What a woman! My mum, my best friend & hands down THE funniest human on the planet & I know many would agree. HAPPY BIRTHDAY @jackieannethornton love you so much ❤️♾.”

The various pictures show the pair embracing each other on an exotic holiday, Jackie being silly with a book and Michelle as a youngster in the garden with her mum.

Manchester-born Michelle is very close to her mum and dad, Michael, and often goes on holiday with them.

The pair even joined her and Mark on their honeymoon to Dubai back in June 2015.

Meanwhile husband Mark Wright recently gushed about his romance with Michelle, and praised her as an actress.

He told The Sun:  “I’m extremely proud. I feel very lucky. The one thing I’ll say. I’m not arrogant or confident about any kind of talent because I can’t sing to save my life.

“I can’t act; like my wife’s a born actress and is incredible at what she does. I can’t do that.”

The couple are currently building their dream home in the Essex countryside.

An architect’s lavish design shared on Instagram revealed it will be a palatial house with an outdoor pool, a large sun terrace and a sprawling garden perfect for summer parties.

And the pair plan to spend lots of time with their families there.

Mark said: “Me and my wife do like entertaining. We’re definitely excited about entertaining our family and friends there. It’s not going to become a party destination because it’s our home, but family barbecues and entertainment moments, for sure.”
