Jana Kramer wins primary custody of kids in divorce but must pay $3K monthly child support to cheating ex Mike Caussin
JANA Kramer won primary custody of her two kids in their divorce, but must pay $3K in monthly child support to her cheating ex Mike Caussin, The Sun can exclusively report.
The country music singer, 37, announced last month that she had "nothing left to give" in her marriage to the Jacksonville Jaguars player and the two were calling it quits.
In court documents obtained by The Sun, Jana was granted primary custody of their two kids – Jolie, five, and Jace, two – with the doc citing: "Mother shall be responsible for the custody, care and maintenance of the parties' minor children at all times, except as follows when Father shall be responsible."
Mike will then take Jolie and Jace home every week from Friday to Sunday.
He was also granted permission to take them home from Wednesday night to Thursday night on alternate weeks. As for holidays, Jana keeps their two kids on every Mother's Day and on even years for Thanksgiving.
The couple will then divide summer and Christmas vacation equally, and they will alternate them each year. The same rule applies for fall and spring vacations, if the kids have any.
The court documents specify that they can only trade kids at each other's homes or at school.
The docs also specified that Jana and Mike both have power over decisions like education, non-emergency healthcare, and extracurricular activities.
However, the most shocking part of the custody hearing is that Jana has to pay Mike $3,200 in child support as she makes 20 times more than what Mike makes as a retired football player.
Her income, according to the docs, is listed as $166,666 a month, while Mike gets $8,333 a month.
Though their custody battle is settled, Jana recently admitted that she will be destroyed when the kids leave her for the first time to spend the weekend with their dad.
Jana said: “The first time they leave for an overnight [visit], I’m gonna be destroyed.
“That’s not what I wanted. That’s not what I worked for. That’s not what I fought for. And it’s not f**king fair.”
She added: “That makes me so angry. I worked too damn hard for it to end this way.”
In late April, Jana took to Instagram to announce she's splitting from Mike, 34, after six years of marriage.
The actress began in the emotional post: "It's time. As I try to make sense of a reality I never wanted to believe could be possible again, those words have now become a reality.
"I've fought y'all. I've loved hard. I've forgiven. I've put the work in. I've given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give."
Jana continued: "Please know that I still believe wholeheartedly in marriage, love, and rebuilding. I just can't fight any longer. It's time to heal.
"Thank you for all the love, heart, and support, in many ways you have fought on this journey alongside me, and for that I am grateful. I'll always encourage you to continue the good fight, but you can't fight it alone."
A source told People that the split is due to the former athlete's infidelity, which the pair have been open about in the past.
The insider explained: "He cheated and broke her trust again.
"After fighting for the marriage for so long, she's come to terms with the realization that his patterns were never going to change."
The source added: "The focus now is on their kids."
Over the weekend Jana admitted that her children are bringing the "light" back into her life during her "grieving."
The One Tree Hill star posted a photo with the two tots as they enjoyed a sunny day in the park.
Jana has been very open with her fans during the divorce process so far and recently took to her Instagram stories to thank the public for their support.
She also discussed how self-care and therapy are helping in her recovery, as she seeks a new "normalcy."
Jana filed for divorce from football player Mike Caussin for "inappropriate marital conduct, irreconcilable differences, and adultery," as was listed in her filing.
The tight end had repeatedly cheated on his wife for years, and in 2016 he entered into treatment for sex addiction.
