Strictly Come Dancing has just eight contestants left battling it out to win the coveted Glitterball Trophy. And as the competition is now well and truly underway as another pair will be voted off in tomorrow night’s dreaded dance-off. One couple who are sure to be safe is HRVY and Janette Manrara, who have remained around the top of the leaderboard and bagged the first ’10’ of the competition last weekend. Now, former contestant, BBC Newsreader Kate Silverton has tipped the pair for success as she gave her thoughts on this year’s crop of stars.
Janette has acted as a professional dancer on the programme since for nearly a decade and has become a much-loved fixture for viewers.
She appears on the show alongside her husband Aljaz Skorjanec, who she is currently apart from due to having to remain in their respective bubbles.
However, with Janette and Aljaz both having forged strong partnerships with HRVY and Radio 1’s Clara Amfo respectively, it’s been hinted the former could bag her first-ever win.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Kate Silverton – who competed with Aljaz back in 2018 – has admitted she thinks HRVY and Janette will do “particularly well.”
Giving her thoughts on the show so far, she said: “Janette obviously looks incredible as ever, I think she’s going to do really well, isn’t she?
“They’ve got really good, they seem like… she always gets lovely partners, but you know, I think they’re going to do particularly well.”
She added: “I don’t know, it’s early days but all I do know, is that it brings a smile to our faces when we watch it!”
Could this finally be the year Janette goes all the way with HRVY, who remains one of the favourites to win?
Janette has surprisingly finished in the highest position of fifth place when she was paired with EastEnders favourite Jake Wood.
The Max Branning actor impressed viewers early on as he excelled with a cheeky Salsa in week two of the competition.
And the pairing got all the way to the semi-final in a particularly strong year of contestants back in 2014.
Last season, she was forced to pull out of the competition after partner – Paralympian Will Bayley – suffered an injury during the competition.

Former star Kate also spoke out on which of the professional dancers she’s got a bit of a soft spot for.
Kate commented: “Johannes [Radebe], for me, is my kind of, I love him… he’s just such a joy!”
This year, Johannes is partnered with beloved actress Caroline Quentin, with the pairing proving a hit with those watching at home.
“They’re [Caroline and Johannes] a really, really, really lovely partnership on there,” she added.
It could be curtains for the couple though as they’re the new favourites to be booted out of the competition tomorrow night.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes make Caroline 6/4 odds to leave on Sunday night with JJ Chalmers close behind at 7/4, with Bill Bailey the current favourite.
Clara Amfo, Maisie Smith and HRVY 6/1 apiece to win the series, so the latter seems well within a chance to take the title.
Ladbrokes said: “Bill’s got the series wrapped up already as far as the odds are concerned, but it looks as though Caroline’s time on the dance floor is all-but over.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 7:25pm on BBC One.
