Kate Ferdinand reveals she had an emergency c-section with baby Cree as she shows off bruises after 'traumatic birth'

KATE Ferdinand has revealed she had an emergency c-section during baby Cree's "traumatic" birth, but says she's "obsessed" with the newborn.

In an extremely honest post, the star, 29, shared an adorable photo of her holding her little son, wearing black maternity underwear and a nursing bra.

Kate – who is married to former footballer Rio Ferdinand – opened up to her fans about how the "happiness is overwhelming", while showing the bruises on her legs following the birth.

However, she laid bare how "traumatic" her birth was and how she feels "completely wiped out" following the c-section – leading to praise from fans for being so honest.

She said: "Day 11 … What a bubble this is 🤍… We are so obsessed with our little angel Cree. I just seem to stare at him for hours on end 🥰seeing the kids and him is literally what dreams are made of, feeling completely overwhelmed 🥺

"I wanted to share this with you. This is me … and let me add this is a much better version of me than the last 10 days.

"After having an emergency c section, and a bit of a traumatic birth I’ve been completely wiped out.

"The happiness has been overwhelming but so have the tears and emotions, I’ve felt like I can’t do what I’m meant to be doing with Cree as I haven’t been able to change or feed him consistently which has had me feeling all types of guilt, for Cree, Rio & that I can’t be doing what I normally do for the kids.

"It’s a whirlwind I just wasn’t expecting … but at the same time the most perfect whirlwind.

"To be standing up holding my bubba like this is a dream right now 🤍 When we are stripped of all the things we can normally do, the small things become extra special.

"Feeling so lucky to have my amazing husband and the kids helping me with everything.

"What an amazing end to a pretty rubbish year 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

"P.S. for anyone about to give birth, make sure you have a huge stock of big black knickers, the bigger the better 🤣"

Fans praised Kate for her honest post following the birth, with one person saying: "This is the most honest beautiful post. Thank-you for being real and congratulations 💙"

Another added: "Kate❤️❤️❤️. We need to hear more of this. Im so glad you've spoken out! Congratulations to you all. C SECTIONS are major surgery, not to be taken lightly. Enjoy your bubble. X"

A third said: "The most honest and beautiful post and photo!! You are doing amazing xx"

The pair have a large blended family, with Kate stepmum to 14-year-old Lorenz, 12-year-old Tate, and nine-year-old Tia, who Rio shares with late wife Rebecca – and little Cree tying them all together.

Pals told The Sun that the couple were “over the moon” about the arrival of the tot last week.

One said: “The birth of their baby is the best Christmas present Kate, Rio and their family could have asked for. It’s going to be more magical than ever.

“Mother and baby are doing great and everyone is excited about the latest addition to the family.”

On Thursday, the proud parents shared the first glimpse of their little one in a sweet snap of Rio and the kids gathered around their Christmas tree in matching green pyjamas.

The top of the baby's head can be seen as he lies peacefully in the arms of the football star's second eldest son.
