Katie Price’s best pal Michelle Heaton begs her to get help after rolling car in ‘drink-drive smash’

KATIE Price’s best friend Michelle Heaton is begging her pal to get help after she rolled her BMW allegedly in a ‘drink-drive smash’.

The Liberty X star, who herself hit rock bottom earlier this year with a drink and drug addiction, is said to be “desperately worried” about Katie.

Katie, 43, was a driving force behind Michelle entering rehab just five months ago.

Pals of the singer say she is now keen to return the favour.

A source told The Sun Online: "Michelle's desperately worried about Katie and wants her to get help.

“Katie saved her life now she wants to repay the favour.

“She saw Katie last week and knew something wasn't right – and today's news only confirms her fears.”

The insider said Michelle has spoken to Katie’s worried mum Amy about her fears.

“Michelle has known Katie a long time and has begged her to go back to rehab to kick her demons for good,” the source added.

“She's been on the phone to Katie to send her love and try and talk sense into her.

“Katie's mum agrees with Michelle – they all just want Katie to get healthy again.”

Katie was rushed to hospital following the shocking accident in the early hours of this morning.

The mum-of-five’s car was pictured turned on its side across the road, with the mangled front crashed into bushes.

Katie could face jail time if charged and found guilty of drink-driving following the horror crash.

Earlier today, Katie’s family spoke out on social media and begged fans to understand that she is “unwell”.

The statement, shared to Instagram, read: "This message has been written by Katie's family.

"As a family we have for some time been concerned about Kate's wellbeing and overall mental health.

"Today our worst fears nearly came true. As a family we have been and will continue to help Kate get the help she needs.

"We hope that she will realise that she cannot battle her issues alone.

"We would kindly ask that the media and wider public give Kate the time and space she needs to seek the necessary treatment, so that she can hopefully return to the Kate we know and love as a mother, daughter and sister.”

We are not asking for sympathy – just that it is recognised that Kate is unwell."

The family continued: "We are concerned and worried about her deeply, we know she lives her life publicly and to many she is fair game, but as a family we hope she can find her path privately moving forward during this very difficult period in her life.

"We are not asking for sympathy – just that it is recognised that Kate is unwell.

"We take great comfort in reading the messages of support and love for Kate that we will pass on to her, in the hope that these positive messages will help spur her on.

"It takes great strength for one to acknowledge they need help, we hope the door is now open for Kate to learn to love herself and to be happy within.

"Mental illness is not a personal failure.

"The Price Family xxx."

Police are investigating reports that Katie was on an "all-night binge" and may have even been driving to get more drugs when she crashed.

Sources told The Sun she had "stayed up all night partying with a few close friends”.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman confirmed: "Police responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision on the B2135 near Partridge Green around 6.20am on Tuesday (September 28).

"A woman, 43, was arrested on suspicion of driving while above the legal limit for alcohol and drugs, and has been taken to hospital to be checked over.

"The road was blocked temporarily while recovery of the vehicle was arranged."
