Katie Price's friends fear for her and say she 'can't stop crying’ since alleged assault at 1.30am

KATIE Price has been 'crying nonstop' since alleged assault on her- and friends say they are worried about the impact the ordeal has had on the reality star.

Katie's friends and family raced to her side yesterday after she discharged herself from hospital just a few hours after being admitted.

And they are now concerned about the impact Monday's incident has had on the 43-year-old mother-of-five.

"Katie is upset," the source said.

"Since getting home she's been resting in bed. She's in total shock over what happened. Her mates are worried about the long-term impact this will have on Katie who, despite the tough exterior, can be fragile like anyone else."

Katie's mum, who has been unwell herself, was one of the first people Katie rang following Monday night's incident.

"She explained to her what happened," our source added.

"Katie's mum and sister then raced round to see her. Katie has cancelled all her work for the next week at least. She wants time and space to get her head around what's happened and to try and make sense of it. She also wants to recover the best she can."

The Sun reported this morning that a man in his thirties was arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive control after Katie was allegedly punched.

The TV star, 43, was taken to hospital as police were called to her home in Essex at about 1.30am on Monday.

Essex Police confirmed today he has been released on police bail until next month.

A statement said: "A man arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour has been released on bail until September 20."

Mum-of-five Katie was pictured with a bruised face and cut lip after she was allegedly punched in the attack.

The 43-year-old star told The Sun: “I’ve got a big bruise, my face is all puffy, and I went to hospital. I’m still all dazed. I’m devastated. I’ve told police that I was assaulted, and am in shock that this happened.

“I ran away after being punched — I ran to Harvey’s house nearby and have now done damage to my feet, which I previously injured.

“I can’t say any more.”
