'KUWTK': Will Kanye West Appear In the Final Season?

In the coming months, two pillars in the lives of the expansive Kardashian family are coming to a close. Keeping Up with the Kardashians — the E! cable network reality TV series that brought the family’s drama to the masses — is ending after 20 seasons on the air. And the marriage between Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West, who tied the knot in 2014, is also ending. As the Kardashians’ TV show wraps up, fans are wondering how the impending divorce of the show’s core power couple will be depicted.

The final season of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ will premier in March 2021

Keeping Up with the Kardashians first hit the airwaves in 2007. In the fall of 2020, the eponymous family announced that they were leaving E! and ending their show. “After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes, and several spinoff shows, we’ve decided as a family to end this very special journey,” the family told Deadline last year. “We are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children.”

The show has sparked numerous media headlines around the world as it followed Kris Jenner and her many children, including Kim Kardashian West, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner. Iconic moments include Kim Kardashian West losing her diamond jewelry while swimming in Bora Bora, the sisters’ numerous personal fights with each other, and West’s marriage proposal to his soon-to-be ex-wife.

West and Kardashian West got married in 2014 but are calling it quits

After a glamorous wedding ceremony in Florence, Italy, Kardashian West and West settled down in Calabasas, California. As her rapper husband dealt with his mental health in increasingly public ways, Kardashian West dodged numerous rumors about her marriage with the rapper being on the rocks. Those rumors turned out to be more fact than fiction when Page Six broke the news that the celebrities were calling it quits.

“They are keeping it low-key but they are done,” a family friend told the outlet. “Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done.” According to the publication, Kardashian West wanted to focus on her budding legal career and was tired of managing West’s public outbursts and political activism.

Fans are wondering if West will appear in the final season of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’

West first appeared in Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2015, reports IMDb. However, unlike his wife and children, he largely avoided being on the show. Despite his absence, West’s relationship with Kardashian West and the extended Kardashian clan often featured prominently in media reports and on the show’s storylines. And while it wouldn’t be unheard of for him to make a surprise appearance in the upcoming final season, sleuthing fans have reason to believe the rapper will be absent from the series wrap-up.

According to US Weekly, West wasn’t spotted on set during the final days of filming. “The rapper, 43, was not present for the final day of filming for the reality show on Friday, January 8, a source confirms exclusively to US Weekly,” explains the publication. “His absence during his in-laws’ milestone moment comes amid his relationship drama with Kardashian, 40.” West’s IMDb page also doesn’t list him as starring in Keeping Up with the Kardashians‘ final season. And Deadline points out that West won’t appear at all on the Kardashians’ soon-to-be-launched Hulu series.

All of these clues hint that the rapper won’t appear any longer in Keeping Up with the Kardashians, except perhaps in flashbacks using old footage. Interested fans will have to wait until March 18, 2021, when the final season premiers, to see for themselves.
