Love Island 2019: Amber Gill and Michael Griffiths to win as fans turns on Amy and Curtis?

Love Island got off to a rather strong start for some islanders with Lucie Donlan and Joe Garratt coupling up early on while Amy Hart paired up with Curtis Pritchard.

The two couples were the favourites to win at the start of the series but Lucie and Joe were split up by the public.

And, fans have begun to turn on Amy and Curtis as the air hostess has come to blows with the surfer over their friendship in the past week.

Now, it seems fans are rallying behind Amber and Michael to be this year’s winners.

The pair got off to a rocky start but appear to be going from strength to strength leading bookies to place them as frontrunners to take home this year’s prize money.

Their odds of winning have been slashed to just 6-4 while Amy and Curtis have slipped to 3-1.

Meanwhile, Danny Williams and Yewande Biala have also had their odds cut to 5-1.

Speaking of Amber and Michael’s chances, Harry Aitkenhead, a spokesperson for Coral, said: “It’s looking like being the most hotly contested Love Island we’ve seen from a betting point of view and this is reflected in the way that we are nearing a record number of bets taken.

“Michael and Amber are now the favourites to claim victory but still have Curtis and Amy hot on their heels.”

He added: “Danny and Yewande are now just 5-1 to win the show and it has been a remarkable turnaround for Yewande after we, wrongly, made her the favourite to be the first person to leave the villa this summer.”

And it looks as though Lucie may not stay in the villa for too much longer with bookies certain she will quit following Joe’s exit.

Ladbrokes have cut their odds on Lucie leaving to just 2/1 after Joe left.

A first look at tonight’s episode has also show Lucie torn over how to spend the rest of her time on the show.

Amber can be seen advising her to follow her heart while Amy tells her: “You can’t be miserable for the next six weeks.”

Sobbing Lucie tells the girls: “I don’t want to talk about it anymore, I want to talk about other things.”

Meanwhile, Yewande has been having second thoughts over her relationship with Danny.

She explained she is used to being the one doing the chasing so is finding it “hard to believe” Danny is really interested in her.

Her friend Anna Vakili said in the Beach Hut: “Yewande doesn’t realise how beautiful she is.”

Fans were also quick to show support for Yewande online, with one writing: “Yewande, please believe in yourself #LoveIsland.”

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
