Love Island boss wants to film ‘all-star series’ with former contestants

Love Island boss Mike Spencer says he would "love" to make an "all-star" series of the dating show that features former contestants from past series.

Participating in an Ask Me Anything session on forum site Reddit, Executive Producer Mike Spencer was asked if he would ever bring back Celebrity Love Island.

Though he wasn't keen on reviving the old format, he did offer an alternative… which might be an even better option for fans.

For those not in the know, Celebrity Love Island was the original format of the dating show and was a big hit on TV from 2005 to 2006 – but then fizzled out.

It starred the likes of Paul Danan, Bianca Gascoigne, Calum Best, Brendan Cole and Shane Lynch – but only lasted for two seasons in total.

Producer Mike doesn't seem keen on the idea of a celebrity version of the popular dating show returning though but did offer a potential alternative.

Mike responded: "That would be a question for the channel. I would personally love to make an ‘All stars’ in the future with past Islanders across all series. What do you think?"

This means the likes of Megan-Baron Hanson, Jack Fincham, Dr Alex and Maura Higgins could potentially head back into the Spanish villa in the future.

This comes as fans of Love Island gear up for the much-anticipated return of the popular ITV summer dating show.

Last year viewers watched on as Liam Reardon and Millie Court were crowned the 2021 Love Island winners, but now it's almost time for a group of new hot, young singletons to enter the villa in search of love.

Love Island 2022 will take to our screens on Monday, June 6 at 9pm – and it's set to be the sexiest series yet.

Earlier this month producers were said to be adding in a new steamy feature into the popular programme, with hopes that it will "encourage more hookups".

An insider revealed to The Sun: "Viewers love all the scenes of rippling muscles and sexy squats.

"Now producers hope that extra space for couples to work out will lead to more hook-ups as the testosterone flows."
