Will Lucifer and Dan ever be friends?
It is safe to say, Lucifer and Dan are not each other’s favourite person.
After all, Dan is the ex-husband of Lucifer’s love, Chloe Decker (Lauren German) and over the years, the pair have come to blows over Chloe.
Dan also blames Lucifer for the death of Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer) and was still grieving her death in seasons four and five of Lucifer.
However, in Lucifer season five, part one, Dan and Lucifer were taking the steps to mend their fraught relationship.

In Lucifer season five, part one, Lucifer’s evil twin brother Michael led Dan to the truth of Lucifer’s identity.
After seeing Lucifer’s devil face, he rushed to Lucifer’s penthouse to warn Chloe and get her out of there, not knowing Chloe was well aware of Lucier’s true identity.
In a moment of fear and panic, Dan even shot Lucifer in his LA penthouse, leading Lucifer to realise he was once again invulnerable around Chloe Decker.
What this invulnerability means for Chloe and Lucifer’s relationship will be explored in season five, part two of Lucifer.
Speaking to TVLine, showrunners Joe Henderson and Idly Modrovich revealed what is in store for Lucifer and Dan in season five, part two.
When asked by a fan what would happen after Dan knows Lucifer’s true identity, they teased: “There will be an episode that brings all the issues Lucifer and Dan have had over the years to ahead.

“Raising the question ‘What happens with Dan needs a favour from the devil himself?'”
What favour Dan will need remains unknown for now and the cast and crew behind Lucifer are remaining tight-lipped about the season five, part two storyline.
As Lucifer works as a consultant for the LAPD, he could simply be helping Dan on a case.

A second fan said: “I love this season so much. Linda and Maze are close again. Dan and Lucifer are friends again. Now I just need Lucifer and Chloe to BE TOGETHER DAMMIT. #LuciferSeason5”
A third fan said: Favourite male friendship – Lucifer+Dan. I think it’s a relationship worth exploring. Dan really cares about Lucifer, and have to realise he has true friends beside Chloe. I count for an ep where Lucifer helps Dan and they’re bonding.
Speaking to Assignment X, producer Mike Costa explained why Dan had to find out about Lucifer’s true identity.
He said: “Once we knew that God was showing up in episode eight, that made the rest of the story have to fall in a certain kind of pattern.
“Michael has to create a situation that causes enough chaos that causes God to show up.
“And that means that everything that Michael does has to happen in those first eight episodes, and all the chickens have to come home to roost.
“One of the things that we knew was going to happen was that Michael was going to effect Dan seeing Lucifer for who he really is, and using Dan as a tool to attack Lucifer, and so that all had to happen the way it did.”
