Outlander season 6 theories: Marsali Fraser loses her baby as star teases big storyline
Outlander: Sam Heughan says sixth series can be expected 'soon'
Marsali (played by Lauren Lyle) and Fergus (Cesar Domboy) have made a life for themselves on Fraser’s Ridge with their two young children in the past two seasons of Outlander. Season five also saw Marsali begin training as Claire Fraser’s (Caitriona Balfe) surgical apprentice, with her going on to kill her attacker Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy). Fans had hoped to see more of Marsali and Fergus in season five but actress Lauren has promised there is a lot more to come for their characters.
Warning: The following story contains potential spoilers from season six and the Outlander books.
Fans know Marsali is expecting her third child with Fergus and was seen heavily pregnant for much of the fifth series.
She is almost to term but the young mum could potentially lose her unborn child in season six.
Marsali was incredibly stressed when Claire was kidnapped and attacked in the season five finale, which could have an affect on her baby.
She was also knocked to the ground when Lionel and his men came to the house to kidnap Claire.

While Marsali was checked over and seemed to be okay, without the modern medical equipment, nothing is certain.
If Marsali were to lose her child it would undoubtedly bring up memories of Faith for Claire and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), as well as put a strain on her marriage to Fergus.
Teasing a big storyline for her character, Lauren previously told TV Line: “We haven’t got right into the details of next season just yet.
“César just texted me. Literally, I’m looking at a text from him right now, because we speak constantly and we’re always in contact.
“We speak, I think, on the phone almost every day, and so we’re always talking about it…
“We love the fact that they’re one of the only couples that don’t fight that much, and we don’t argue that much.
“I mean, there’s stuff I can’t really talk about,” the actress added.

Outlander theories: Did Jamie ever try to follow Claire to the future? [EXPLAINER]
“I do know some stuff is going to happen with them next season that’s very much them together, so that will happen, but it’ll be a totally different situation to what you’ve seen them in before.”
Fans of Diana Gabaldon know that in A Breath of Snow and Ashes, Marsali gives birth to her fourth child, a boy named Henri-Christian, who has restricted growth.
Other families living on Fraser’s Ridge believe the boy’s condition is down to his parents’ sins and make their horrible thoughts well-known.
The family later move away from Fraser’s Ridge to try and help their children have a happier life.
Given the events from A Breath of Snow and Ashes have already begun to take place in the TV series so it is possible Marsali could have trouble with her children soon.
Actress Lauren recently revealed she found it “uncomfortable” wearing a fake bump for her pregnancy storyline, explaining: “the whole time [pretending to be] pregnant … was a whole separate challenge in itself because wearing that bump is easily one of the most uncomfortable things you can do.
“And I had to wear it every day. There was a [different] size of bump for every episode. Even when you can’t really see that there was a bump, there was one.”
Outlander seasons 1-5 are available to stream on STARZ and Amazon Prime Video.
