Peaky Blinders season 5, episode 6 promo: What will happen in the finale?

Called Mr Jones, the final episode of Peaky Blinders season five will be released next week. Tying up the loose ends of the series, as well as revealing just what some of those dramatic episode five moments mean for the beloved characters, it is sure to be explosive. The BBC has released a new promo teasing at what could happen as the Cillian Murphy-led series comes to an end.

What will happen in the Peaky Blinders finale?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Peaky Blinders season 5

Peaky Blinders season five will end on Sunday, September 22 on BBC One at 9pm.

Following on from the dramatic episode five, there’s a lot that needs to be tied up in the final outing.

The previous episode was certainly dramatic as viewers saw the fallout of Aunt Polly (played by Helen McCrory) shooting Linda Shelby (Kate Phillips).

While she survived, there were other casualties in the tense episode, including Colonel Ben Younger (Kingsley Ben-Adir) who was murdered in a horrific explosion.

Now, ahead of the finale airing, the BBC has released a short synopsis for the upcoming episode.

The summary reveals: “News of Tommy’s (Cillian Murphy) activities have reached Winston Churchill (Neil Maskell).

“At a family meeting, Tommy lays out his plans for Mosley (Sam Claflin), which will take place at a rally Sir Oswald is leading.

“Tommy is surprised by another strategy, coming from an unexpected corner.

“Meanwhile, Tommy has his own secrets to reveal.”

Tommy’s plan to kill Oswald Mosley also was thrown into action when he broke out a former war comrade Barney Thomas (Cosmo Jarvis) from an asylum.

As Arthur (Paul Anderson) reveals: “Barney Thomas is going to kill Oswald Mosley – shoot him in the f****** head.”

Tommy reveals that Barney will shoot the politician when he is on stage with him at a rally.

Therefore heading into the season finale, it is highly likely viewers will see this moment.

The synopsis also hints at the bigger role of Winston Churchill in the latest episode.

Fans have only had a glimpse of Churchill so far this season when he appeared in the house of commons in episode four.

However, it looks like he might play a bigger role in the next episode, especially given Tommy’s involvement with fascism.

One thing that fans will be eager to see more of is whether the beloved character Alfie Solomons (Tom Hardy) may still be alive.

In episode five, Tommy drops a hint in a conversation with Jimmy McCavern (Brian Gleeson)

He tells the Glasgow gangster: “Well I would suggest the most competent organiser of men in the south is Alfie Solomons.”

While Jimmy quickly dismisses him with the claim that he is dead, there seems to be more to the story than meets the eye.

Viewers last saw Solomons shot by Tommy in Margate for his betrayal at the end of season four.

But with the synopsis hinting that Tommy will be revealing some “secrets,” it will be interesting to see if this is one of them.

There are more loose ends that are expected to be tied up in the final episode.

There may still be some fall-out from the deal with Brilliant Chang (Andrew Koji) to endure as well as the shipment of opium heads north.

What’s more there is the question of the black cat who Tommy thinks is betraying him, which is likely to be revealed.

Tommy’s deal with the Billy Boys is also potentially going to break apart after he has no more use of them.

As fans will know, he has also promised that Aberama Gold (Aidan Gillen) will be able to shoot him as revenge for killing his son.

Whatever the final episode hold for fans, it’s sure to be a dramatic one.

The final episode of Peaky Blinders will air on September 22 at 9pm.
